Tank BIS is crafted acc's, that's a problem.

Tank scaling is really really bad on accessories, 1 str to every 10 ilvls. Something needs to be done about it because it is costing millions and millions of gil to get tanks bis when every other class gets to just go for raid and tome gear.
I know se didn't want to give tanks any scaling on right side but having us scale like this means we are back to gordias where tanks have to overmeld crafted.
If this doesn't change we will be forced to pentameld accessories all expansion and as someone with alts, it's really expensive.
Please se look at what's going on because in no world should crafted eclipse the raid and tome gear the way it does for tanks right now.

Just do more duties u spend less. Ez. Adventurer in need in lvling is 1 VIs per clear, u can get Vs in dungs too, u can sell VIs to buy Vs. Ez ez

Wat.

The problem is not just about needing gil. It's the fact that only tanks have to get pentamelded accessories if they want the best gear. Not only that but it also makes savage fending accessories virtually dead drops for personal and group gear progression.

That's why I have only 4 jobs capped and omnicrafter......

This problem is mainly being caused because of how weak the Tenacity stat is right now and because of the fact that raising Direct Hit via melds is so effective. Most of these problems will probably be addressed in 3.1 when they roll out the new gear since that's where the problem is coming from. Though, this is great for the Goldsmiths right now because they probably won't be able to take advantage of the market like this for the rest of this expansion. It's not like they get to make high priced glamour gear like Weaver, Leatherworker, and Blacksmith. In terms of the melding, Mirch is right in that you can very easily get VI materia from the roulette since it's not a daily bonus and tanks are more than likely the adventurer in need.

Savage drops tokens, so you wouldn't ever get "dead" drops in a savage duty, I think you're talking about extreme primals since they actually drop non-token based loot. Also, the OP was complaining about gil problems due to the need to penta-meld their crafted tank accessories in order to have max dps.

No and no. Tenacity is not weak, and dh melds are not "so effective". Please stop repeating that drivel as it's been demonstrated to be false many times. It's like some dps wannabe fanboy who rolled the wrong job declared that even the tiniest of damage increase is better than any amount of damage reduction and all the mindless sheep just assumed he was right.

The paltry damage reduction barely does anything. DH is king and that's a fact you have to get by. See any serious raiding tanks and you will ask why Tenacity is even there.

If any you are the sheep telling people Tenacity is better than DH because all the top groups feature full DH melds for tanks, that's not fabricated.

they adjust scaling every patch, there is no way to tell if it will be better because we will adjust the weight. If stats worked like that we wld be at a 1 second gcd with our ss by now. And either way crafted will still be the best because you can get way more weight from the secondaries than you can from the 1 or 2 extra str.
And it's not just a gil issue, it's a time issue because your gonna be grinding for it and an unnessicary wall that tanks have to get over but other classes are unaffected by. It's a gearing oversight that we needs to be aware of.

Coming back to the accessories STR scaling, yes it is horrible. At least they are getting cheaper by days and VIs are easier to get, so the last concern is how willing you are to dip money into the 36DH where DH V materia is 1/2 of the VI price in my server.

It's fact, tenacity is a sub optimal stat. The damage reduction is miniscule and will not affect you in the slightest. This game is based on big attacks that you CD through. A stat like ten just doesn't really have a place with the way damage comes out. There is no such demonstration that shows ten is a good stat. It's not a terrible one but damage is king period end of story there is no possible debate to this fact. Coming back to the point, because damage us king crafted is bis and will be continue to be for the entirety of the expansion if scaling stays the same.
