Did anyone else notice that bards hold their flute sideways?

I mean, I can understand not having it pressed up against the lips because of all the variants in character models..... but it's quite literally rotated about 90 degrees from where a flute should be held. The musician blows across the hole, not into it, and the finger keys should be upright.

The flute looks great, the finger position is even pretty spot on - but the instrument itself is in completely the wrong orientation!

The flute is held that way. What you're probably thinking of is the clarinet which is forward.

As for the position of the holes yeah they should be pointing upwards instead of to the back.

He means that the holds are rotated the wrong way.

This is what I am referring to, yes.

That said, it does look more like it was modeled based on a recorder, but there's a flute mouth hole (not visible in these screen shots) directly in front of the player's mouth, and not a plastic reed-thingy (whatever that part is called on a recorder) on the front of the instrument, so it's definitely intended to be a flute.

I thought it was a recorder and not a flute when I first saw it
