Just to confirm, but you are with the Gridania GC right?
If that's the case, you will want to buy the Serpent Chocob Issuance from the Serpent GC headquarters in Gridania (https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/S...ocobo_Issuance). It costs 200 gc seals, which you can get by doing Fates.
Do
/mountguide
Then drag any mounts you want to use onto hotbars. All your unlocked mounts will appear in the mount guide.
I can appreciate that some people navigate the game through menus, but the menu system can be disabled or hidden, so a menu-driven answer might not apply to everyone without changes to their configs. If you'd like to discuss further, we should move over to General so we're not hijacking new players' help threads.
So, as i remember the quest... the army officer you speak with at headquarters suggests getting a personal chocobo to make getting around easier. He tells you to buy an issuance. This costs 200 seals, and i believe you can only buy the one. It probly goes into your key items menu. Then you present the issuance to your armies chocobo wrangler, and they bring one out for you. You name it... and i think they give you a whistle... and that ends the quest. If you did get a whistle, you use it to add the chocobo to your mount menu(if there was no whistle, the company chocobo would have gone straight into the menu then). Rong mentioned the / command, the mount guide itself is also under the "character" menu list. If you want to use a specific mount, put it on one of your hotbars. There are also commands to summon a random mount from those you have unlocked if you prefer variety. Your actions interface has these options, which can also be placed directly on a hotbar for easy access.
