I don't know how you scholar mains do it.

I'd like to give a shoutout to all my scholars out there who main this hot mess of a job. After leveling scholar to level 65+ and still going, It has been probably the most frustrating experience i've had in this game and i have a newfound appreciation to those scholars that are sticking with it. The only reason I'm leveling as scholar is for the fast queues, 70 armory bonus and because it's still shares xp with summoner. I get that most of my frustations aren't 100% related to the new scholar design but also from tanks who chain pull the entire dungeon and don't know how to rotate cooldowns and getting globaled everytime a mob sneezes on them. It's pretty much a combination of everything that has me really disliking this job.


The heal amount of physick being so pathetically low, the insane mp costs for the shield from adlo that doesn't even come close to comparing to AST's shields, the fact that every decent heal is tied to 3 charges on a 1 minute cooldown. What happens when your tank is chain-pulling and you have to burn a excog and 2 lustrates back to back to prevent him from dying? Good luck keeping him alive with your useless fairy that get's outhealed by a chocobo and spamming physick on your tank because you don't have to mana to adlo him for the 100th time on the same trash pack. I get that this is pretty ranty right about now so I'll close with saying that i have a crazy amount of respect for scholars right now and that i hope SE fixes them. Take care.

Even if I personnaly quit Scholar because I found it unfun now and switch to WHM instead and even if I think Scholar should need to be fixed on some points just like adlo mp cost, fey union, excog, chain strategem, its healing potency and so on...

What you are writing here suggest that you had a bad healing rotation too.
Saying the fairy became useless is exagerated. She had a nerf on embrace and fey illumination because of Fey union, yes but...
You can still Rouse her, use eye for an eye, take largess as cross abilites, use fey illumination that is now 10% indeed but still a heal boost.
Physick isn't a heal to be taken alone cause you'll always have your fairy embrace.

Yes, there are crappy tanks that pull all the dungeon without CD and it's their fault.
But then again, while I think scholar need indeed some fixes, you're exagerating imo.
You still have Dissipation as an emergency AF need, you don't spam adloquium until running dry of mp...
You adlo the tank, you lustrate, then you psysick + rouse the fairy, you eventually largess + adloquium then lustrate, fey illumination, swifcast + emergency tactics...

In any case, ranting about scholar for sad dungeons experience isn't a thing when you might performing badly as well.
Also, the chocobo example is ridiculous. Keep in mind that even if scholar raw healing is still lower than the other, the fairy is still a free healing through time.

So please, I understand Scholar's sadness in general, I have the same feeling for this class I loved so much, but try to be at least a little more objective when complaining about problems he truly has.

I'm not understanding how people are struggling...I'm level 67 SCH now, and I'm still DPSing the majority of the time while my fairy heals - not much has changed for me except DPS output. Even when I was leveling WAR I had no problem with SCH healers, it all felt normal to me.

Taking the chocobo as an example is ridiculous.

It isn't in the party during trials and its role isn't the same as the fairy.
The fairy is a part of scholar's toolkit and was a strong argument to take him over an astrologian because she has her own cooldown she can use for free at anytime.
Chocobo is here to help during solo quest and stuff.
The fact that he heals more than the fairy isn't a problem and it's not true cause you have no interaction with it. You can't use things like Rouse or Fey Union with it. You can't order it to cast a spell in particular.
It's two different thing.

And my objective wasn't to say that it must have definitly been your fault if something went wrong, but no one was here during your dungeons to see who was actually performing badly.
And you can't find problems to scholar if the fault is the player himself for not using the toolkit correcly.
Saying the fairy became useless is one of the most exagerated thing you said. She's still useful. Embrace is maybe nerfed but is still there and will always be a free heal all time. She still have Fey Covenant and Fey Illumination. She's still a help and still part of scholar gameplay.
You're talking about the amount of heal of psysick, and I told you this skill isn't to be taken alone cause you have your fairy embrace, so you're actually restoring more HP than what you think, and since it's not in scholar's root to have high raw heal... he's doing fine with this.

In any case, Scholar have problems right now, but I don't like to see people finding him others problem because they don't use him correctly.

The scholar has some issues, but it is hardly that bad off. Honestly, I have had zero issues healing dungeons all the way to 70. No issues with basic primals. Bad tanks can cause issues but I still manage fine. No mp issues either. Comparing the fairy to the chocobo is apples to oranges. The way the scholar heals actuall feels the same too except we don't over gear content and the fairy can't do the bulk of the work allowing us to just pew pew most of the dungeon.

People need to stop the doom and gloom. Are there some issues? Yes. Is the class the worst thing ever? Nope. Hell I healed a tank today in Kugane castle that had broken gear and only 22k hp until he noticed his issue and only wiped once when he was insta gibbed.

I was giving my experience healing as a scholar since 4.0, I was not having any of the issues i've had 60-65 when i was doing healing group content pre-4.0. I get you don't like people listing negatives about your class, but i highly doubt the vast amount of people voicing the same concerns as myself don't know how to play or "not use them correctly" that you seem to claim. The problems I've listed that i've had with the class are not unfounded and they are indeed problems. MP costs need adjustments, the nerf on the fairy needs to be undone and their shields need to be stronger. I've been playing scholar for several years, I'm well aware of how to use it's tools correctly. Once again, refrain from resorting to making accusations on the skill levels of people that play healers just because you don't like what they are saying. Feel free to disagree with my points, but instead of calling out people for playing poorly because they have issues with a class, address the actual claims being made and give examples on why you think they are fine. Leveling scholar to 70 was very easy for me. You still get way more dps time than any other healer because the fairy can still do pretty well on her own. She just can't do your whole damn job anymore. Though i think the scholar itself could use some potency buffs.
