BLM needs some love and RDM needs a nerf

Fire IV needs to be buffed back to 280 potency to even compete with RDM in damage, and then we're still far away from SAM in damage, which is where BLM is supposed to be.
Blizzard IV is a straight DPS loss if you have Foul available in Umbral Ice. Getting two extra Fire IV isn't worth the cast of Blizzard IV, and it's only worthwhile when Foul isn't available.

BLM still has no utility, but gets beaten by all jobs on single-target damage (the only type of damage which matters) except for DRG, BRD and MCH.

RDM needs a nerf. It has the most utility out of the 3 casters, but deals the most damage consistently and has the most movement. Looking at the SSS training dummies, it is supposed to be furthest behind. This is nowhere near the case right now, as it beats BLM and significantly beats SMN.

If BLM isn't doing the most damage ahead of SMN in 2nd and RDM in 3rd when Savage releases, then BLM isn't viable as SMN and RDM will always have their utility to make them viable.

BLM is less than 100 DPS below RDM in Susano. It beats SMN by 200 DPS.
BLM is 200 DPS below RDM in Lakshmi. It beats SMN by 100 DPS.
So, on average, BLM is 150 DPS inbetween RDM and SMN regarding caster DPS. While it's not "the best", it's still completly viable. SMN, on the other hand, is not.

SAM is completly overpowered, don't compare BLM to it. In fact, don't compare anything to it. SAM is in its own category.

Though I do agree that RDM grants too much DPS for the skill floor and ceiling it has, while also having very potent healing abilities and raise. It's also a job which doesn't punish failure that much.
Tuning it down a bit is all the caster balance needs. SMN needs quite a buff too. But BLM is probably at the right spot already.

I can keep up with Rdm and Sam, if I have a good run. Blm is on a good spot, I only wish I could get rid of the job UI and get my buff icons back.

If they buff Enochain to refresh your current Astral/Umbral timer, I'll be one happy caster main.

If SE is going to argue "purity of purpose" then I agree that RDM needs some re-balancing. I thought WHM was supposed to be "the Healer Template," and BLM the "magic DPS template." But it seems for some reason RDM is doing both their jobs with little to no drawbacks. Either bring BLM up some more so it is the "Magic equivalent to SAM." or tone something down on RDM.

They gave RDM BLM's burst, gave it SMN rez, plus the best buffs/utility and gave SMN........devotion, stripping away or hard nerfing most of it's abilities while giving it utterly useless utlity. At this point it feels like the Bahamut was an apology or a bandaid for screwing SMN.

''Ok we totally nerfed you guys into oblivion, but here's a Bahamut, please continue playing SMN''.

It's ok though, they'll probably just ovebuff SMN when they see it's population dropping. Overbuffing is always the answer instead of balancing with SE ;D

They needed to make Samurai and Red Mages better and worth enough to make people who loved their class to move a bit to explore and try those two new classes. I believe that when enough people will get their hype over and that most people will have played them until 70, then SE will be able to balance the game better to make the class choice wider and more fair.
They just try to give a reason to people to level up more classes as we can level up every classes with a same character. So we play more without being bored too quickly.

This is how things get broken.
Don't change two jobs at the same time. If one is underpowered, bring that one up, but leave the once overpowered job the same.
If you buff one; nerf the other, they're just going to swap places. Like the situation with PLD and WAR. They buffed PLD, nerfed warrior. Now they just swapped places. They should have just buffed PLD and left it alone.
