Regarding Rhalgr's Reach [SPOILERS]

So, with Rhalgr's Reach being the new 'Idyllshire', I'm kinda confused how it would work, since Idyllshire came at the end of the story, and didn't play a massive role, they could extend it to their hearts content, but Rhalgr's Reach can't really get the same treatment, given it is such a vital part of the story. I wonder if we will see somewhere else change instead?

I had assumed that (as with the Waking Sands) there were several versions of Rhalgr's Reach depending on where you were in the story. Have you (with the story completed) tried to meet someone who was just making it there for the first time? Is it the same instance?

If not, and LV70 players are in the final incarnation, they can update it all they want, no?

What would they update, and why would Rhalgr's Reach need new buildings/upgrades and such if Ala Mhigo is free now?

I'm of the opinion Doman Enclave is going to be updated. If you speak with NPCs there they will say how they are rebuilding it and how it will change in no time. Given that it's an instanced zone currently in ruin and somewhat useless, I think it's a prime candidate.

Well, it would still be an important settlement, given it's close proximity to the rest of Eorzea it still could serve as a important waystation between Gridania and Ala Mhigo, also remember the Resistance has been encamped there for over ten years, they even buried their dead there - for that time it was basically Ala Mhigo for all intents and purposes. So even once they accomplished their goals, it doesn't mean "that's it, lets leave this place and never return," it would still be important not just as a settlement but for sentimental value. And if for nothing else, it would serve as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the 25 year struggle for liberation, especially Zenos's attack on the place.

Also I can confirm the game does phase Rhalgr's Reach's environment depending on where you are in the story - I returned to Gridania straight after the battle with Zenos and then went back to Rhalgr's Reach a short time later to continue the story, and there were other players around oblivious, while the whole place was still in ruins, with wrecked magitek armour and discarded weapons stuck in the ground, and npcs lying injured around the place. So the game definitely can handle showing it differently for each player depending on where they are in the storyline.

Everyone seems to be in the same instance, I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw a lower level FC member there, after I finished the MSQ

The before/after of the 'In Crimson it began' are also in the same instance, as I spent time there with a friend who was stuck behind the Raublock

Revenant's Toll and Idyllshire have both been the end game towns in the past and have both seen significant changes over their lifetimes

and Idyllshire changed on an even grander scale, growing from a pile of rocks to the hub it is today.

I'm not sure how they would change Rhalgr's Reach like they did with the past two hubs, which leads me to believe that we might not see any changes, or they're going to do those kinds of changes somewhere else.

Somewhere like Ala Mhigo or the Doman Enclave

I still would've rather Rowena set up shop in Kugane. Seems a waste to have this brand new city hub only to funnel us back into Rhalgr's Reach.

They did the same thing with Ishgard, and it was painful going back to Ishgard for quests and seeing this vast sprawling city emtpy - because everyone was in Idyllshire.

Moreover, I'd think that Rowena would be eager to expand into Kugane. I'd love to see a confrontation or competition between Rowena and Hancock. Just having those two in the same city would be fun.

I hope that the do expand Ala Mhigo a bit. The area we have access to right now is pretty small.

I was in awe when I reached to that part in the game; it was very cool yet chilling at the same time because those poor new players have no idea what's going to happen and they're just running around like everything's okay while I'm over here like, "CAN'T YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! WHAT'S WRONG YOU WITH YOU PPL?!" Lol

As much as I dislike Ala Mhigans its going to be Rhalgars that will be updated. I mean the script vendors and the tome vendors are there.
