STAT ALLOCATION CONCEPT SUGGESTION

So it seems SE is having difficulty finding the balance for tank classes in regards to stat scaling, I\\'m just putting these suggestions out there but this could potentially fix the game.

1. Remove VIT from all gear and in place grant flat HP
2. Remove STR scaling from tanks completely and scale damage with VIT at a lower rate than 1:1 for tanks
3. Reduce VIT:HP scaling and introduce HP materia that would yield more than VIT materia towards all classes

This way vit becomes tank exclusive main stat, all classes HP value will still be balanced,tanks Wont have an overpowering HP edge due to downscaling of vit:HP ratio.

I'm not clear what problem you're trying to fix here. That tanks have too much HP? Isn't that wholly intentional?

Oh, I'm sorry, pray forgive stupid old me for asking.

It's the problem that tanks are back to scaling damage completely from str at 1:1, and new class locked accessories force tanks to use i270 str accessories to get 1. Damage and 2. Sufficient emnity

It also shows how many flaws the stat VIT Has at the moment, seeing how they changed tank damage scaling to and from it. Only reason why it's being kept this way is because all classes have main damage stat + vit on left side gear. Whereas if u remove vit and replace with flat HP. Vit can finally become a true main stat for tanks. With durastically less HP scaling and a damage modifier for tanks.

Its a concept you'd have to have experienced min/maxing to wrap your head around it. But as it stands VIT is a broken stat

Wouldn't a more practical solution be to simply role lock all accessories from level 50 and higher? I don't think they want people using endgame pieces from last expansion for BiS this expansion.

You'll have to change Weakness and Brink of Death too.

I mean u can come up with countless quick fix solutions, but it will still leave the problem of where vit stands right now. If they have to change a lot it's worth the change, they've shown they can Change weakness and brink of death so it's not out of the question

Wouldn't it also be easier to just, y'know, add Strength to the level 70 accessories?

For example, instead of just +80VIT, you'd also have +80STR? That would handle the damage scaling issues that are going to happen over the course of the expansion. Plus, it would leave them the option to fine tune Tank dps without hurting Tank HP.

I'm not trying to look for an easy solution, yes that may be again a quick fix for the current problem. BUT I will counter your argument saying the 1:1 scaling on str for tanks at the moment is too broken to do that. If that were the case then you would pretty much never want to bring a dps into your party and stack tanks. What if I told you with current "best in slot" + a full set of 270 str right side, paladins heal for a base of roughly 11k per clemency. So if you give them HP and that amount of dps and healing, what point would there be to bring any other class?

Hence I mentioned the fine tuning option. You don't have to give them equal STR and VIT. You could instead give them like, for example, +80VIT and +40STR, so they scale differently over time.

While I understand that you don't wan an "easy option", I don't understand the advantages of your method. Using an abstracted stat like VIT instead of straight HP allows them to adjust the calculation of VIT to HP if necessary, and keeps the accessories cleaner and easier to read.

I do agree that the lack of a real damage stat on Tank accessories will be a problem in the future, I'm just not certain your method provides enough tangible benefits. Keep in mind, this change would affect every piece of gear that has Vitality on it, while adding Strength to new Stormblood accessories would be trivial. A harder change is not always a better change.

Ah I misunderstood what you meant by fine tuning. What is so complex about VIT though? All classes so far end up with the same amount of hp gain from the same amount of VIT I don't see how editing HP values directly is any more or less complex
