Free/Reduced server transfer to lower pop server?

Does anyone know if they ever do any sort of free or reduced rates to server transfer to the newer servers? A bunch of my buddies just started on Coeurl for the double experience but I also wanted to get my main over there too.

If you go to Coeurl you can transfer for free as it a preferred world.

Oh really? Do you happen to know if my characters I transfer over will receive the double experience as well or just new ones created? I'm not concerned either way since I was planning on transferring regardless and this saves me the $18 I thought it was going to be though!

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it, doesn't look like double exp but it's free and we get 10 gold chocobo feathers

Hmm, when trying to transfer my character to Coeurl it's showing that it's going to charge $18, is this correct? I am Sargatanas right now which is listed as a "Standard World", would I have to be on a "Congested World" to get the free transfer?

Pretty sure it is only free coming from a High Population server.

Odd that Sargatanas isn't one, my queue yesterday was in the 4000's lol. Okay, no worries, ty

Low population server won't help. I'm in Zalera and getting the exact same issues. It's a Data Center problem.
