Additional diagnostic information:

As my laptop possesses both integrated graphics as well as a dedicated graphics card, I experimentally switched the game to run on the integrated graphics. The result is that while the framerates are much, much slower, they do render everything 100% correctly. My character has eyebrows again!

Testing with other games with the dedicated graphics does not show *any* problems even remotely like the screenshots shown above, which would seem to indicate that something in Stormblood isn't playing nicely with everything else.

Additional information: Whatever problem exists only exists in the DX11 version of the client. Switching to DX9, dedicated graphics causes glow effects to render correctly, and I have my eyebrows back.

Again, I have to reiterate: The DX11 client was working completely fine before maintenance, and my system configuration did not change between Heavensward and Stormblood early access.

Further experimentation seems to point towards a problem with the game's FXAA implementation.... or lack thereof. To this point, in order to maximize framerate, I have been playing with the absolute minimum settings, however, fidding with the graphical settings in order to try and squeeze out a few extra FPS caused me to accidentally turn FXAA on.

As a result of turning FXAA on, the artifacts seen above disappear, and then stay gone when FXAA is turned back off.... however performing certain actions such as mounting up immediately cause the client to crash to desktop.

In short, FXAA must be toggled off, then on in order to make the artifacts go away, and must stay on to prevent further client instability.

I'm also getting this issue. For me, the Transparent Lighting Quality setting seems to be related. Toggling between Normal and High will make the effect shift a bit, and will occasionally cause it to go away completely, at which point it will stay gone for the remainder of the session. However, there's also a small chance that it will crash the game and bring up a DirectX fatal error message (further pointing toward DirectX being the ultimate cause of the problem, since DX9 works fine). The crash has only happened so far in Tamamizu, so it could be specific to an effect in that area.

In my case, DX9 seems to work fine as well, although it seems that certain parts of Kugane are almost guaranteed to reliably cause the game's framerates to go to zero as it struggles with draw calls, a problem that doesn't exist in the DX11 client.

I have recorded a video of a successful attempt to get things working. When next I play, I will try to get an unsuccessful attempt to get things working, to aid diagnosis.

The simplest solution might be the correct one, looks like. I updated my graphics card drivers and there's no sign of the bug anymore. I was using Radeon 17.2.1, now I'm on 17.4.4.

Not to put too fine a point on it, I too, am already on the most recent drivers available for my card, but still have these problems.
