New theory about Zetsuken

It was mentioned in the live letter that the new far eastern beast tribe the Kojin believe that all objects contain Gods(Kami) and try to collect those that contain powerful gods.

It sounds plausible to me that Zantetsuken might have originally been one of these items and it might be the believe of the Kojin that sustains it.

It's called Zantetsuken, not Zetsuken.

This theory does seem likely, and was also my immediate thought upon that particular reveal.

Anyway, it's possible that the Kojin could have something to do with the origins of the blade; we don't get much info in-game as to it's concrete origin. As to it being sustained by the Kojins' continued belief... I have my doubts. Since it seems that by this point, Zantetsuken is almost literally the same as Soul Edge; except instead of the new wielder of the blade becoming Nightmare as they pick up the sword, they just become Odin.

Oooh you might be on to something there. Can't check now but I'm pretty sure the Odin minion (or maybe card?) says that rumour is, the sword was claimed by Odin after defeating an Au'ri warrior, who of course come from the Far East.

I believe the far east may have "yokai" equivalents

otherwise mundane objects animated by beliefs... mini-primals

Zantetsuken was probably one of the most powerful ones

So is Urth from the Far East or not?

"Prominent theologians advocate" is a fairly standard meta way of saying this is likely very wrong and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Urth is Eorzean along with ancient Allag, Odin originates from the "north" (which may be where modern Garlemald is), and Zantetsuken is likely Othardian in origin.

True, but the only other mention is "A popular theory is," so at the moment the two meta clues we have not only contradict each other but are also shaky at best due to careful wording on the part of the devs.
