For 4.0 and onwards, new jobs should have a lvl 50/60 iconic glamour quest set.

I don't think the devs should do a repeat of 3.0 where the new additions had to wait for weeks and collect tomestones to have a unique set for the job. I think we could forgo 1 unused crafted set (throw in a repeat if you must) so that resources could be put into 2 sets for the new job, a 50/60 iconic quest rewarded set and the new weekly tomestone specific set. I'm not really looking forward to not even looking like a basic RDM until a month or more after release (depending on the tomestone gear costs/implementation.)

I agree. I liked how the 2.0 AF set was given to us. and in the lorebook, the 3.0 AF set has deep lore to them. The fact the way we had to get those pieces was from Eso tomes diminshes the gear's value to me. They just don't feel as important as 2.0 AF gear to me.

Idk, 2.0 the gear was given out to you for free, simply because it was like you were graduating. In 3.0 you had already graduated and were just expanding your craft and you had to earn the gear.

But I do think it would help if they gave the gear for free. It would really help those people who use jump potions for their job.

I do agree that the new jobs should start off with some decent gear, if they start off with just the basic normal quality lv 50 ilvl 115 stuff I would need to gear it properly with a decent set of gear like the ironworks (that is if ironworks gear is even made for the new jobs). As for getting up to level 60 I think as part of the job quest rewards we should at least get a full set of the old upgraded Eso tombs gear. That would put us on a half decent ilvl to start into stormblood content (or the gear for the last tombstones that were discontinued, currently it's been the Eso tombs that were last discontinued)

Given that we did get weapons for the old jobs even for with things like Primal tokens I'm positive we will get atleast the same treatment on things like Poetic weapons and the like. As far as starting gear however...that could be a reason they are currently leaning towards lvl 50, to start players out with AF1 gear for new jobs. This would give new players i90 stuff like they can get with the majority of other jobs while those who get the Poetics can immediatly start out at i120/130.

For those that do the jump potions if I recall right from the official thread explaining it, those people do get a set of gear to equip to their character for that job.

I don't think they would use the AF1 gear just because of the lv 50 ilvl 115 gear that came out with hw. If they were to use that set if gear hopefully they at least make it hq, unlike the nq lv 30 gear they started the new hw jobs with I had to upgrade it all to hq before I would level them lol.
