THM Question (Cross Class Inquiry/Advice)

So I've recently picked up THM, and I absolutely LOVE the class. It just clicked with me (level 32 at the moment just FYI). I've been so used to healing though (AST lvl 60) so it's an adjustment.

Astral/Umbral balance is pretty easy. I know use Fire II on groups, I start my rotation with Lighting/Lightning II. I use Aero as well, which has good synergy with the rest of the offensive rotation.

My main concern, or rather curiosity, is about CC skills. Which ones do you guys typically recommend?

I'm currently running Aero, Cure, Protect, Stoneskin, Eye for an Eye, and Raise. I'm open to suggestions for these, although I know I want to keep Aero, Stoneskin, and Raise for certain. I can always use Potions(Or Second Wind perhaps) for healing, Eye for an Eye is decent but replaceable, and Protect is usually Healer oriented.

Virus, Second Wind, Featherfoot, and Raging Strikes are all on the table for me as well. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! ^_^

Pretty much Raging Strikes and Quelling Strikes are the only ones I know that are considered "required" CCs by the community. As for the others, I think we need a BLM main to help you there lol.

Get Raging Strikes and Quelling Strikes and unlock Black Mage ASAP.

You have 6 CC's at level 32? You are playing a "Brayflox Nightmare" right now, past level 30 without your Job stone. Fixing that is your first priority.

LvL 30 and LvL 35 Jobs skills from BLM aren't worth loosing those extra cross class slots, but yeah time to LvL Archer till 34 for Raging Strikes and Quelling Strikes, other good cross class skills are Eye for an Eye, Virus and Physick.

Uh, did you forget about the Attribute boost? Jobs get a huge boost to Attributes over classes. That's why they are so critical right at 30.

No and you are right for dungeons, I was thinking about solo. At Level 30 for BLM your job is an extra 10 points of INT and 5 point of VIT Piety, not enough VS having Protection/Stone Skin at those levels IMO.

I would suggest that solo content is not an issue challenge-wise, and that group content will make up the bulk of XP for most players, anyway. Protect's effect is pretty negligible when we're talking low base defensive numbers, and Stoneskin is not remotely worth keeping up on a regular basis. Stopping to reapply Stoneskin before engaging each mob would be a horrible waste of time.

Raging Strikes is a must-have. Quelling Strikes is a godsend when you end up with undergeared/underperforming tanks, but as a WAR main who plays with a very skilled BLM who hasn't been bothered to level BRD yet, I can say that it's not a problem.

Eye for an Eye is great. When I BLM, I naturally adore huge pulls, so helping my tank out in whatever way I can to make the pull better for everyone is just a given. I always E4E + Apocatastasis on big pulls when I can, if the healer hasn't already done so.
