Maybe these have already been asked and answered somewhere else, but:
1. Will rewards for achievements be retroactive? As in the players who already have the achievements when the system is implemented automatically get the rewards?
2. Are the achievments for the new system going to be separate from the current "achievements" on the lodestone?
3. Will said "achievements" on the lodestone cease to exist when the new system is implemented?

These are some of the very same questions I have been wondering about ever since I heard about the 300+ achievements coming in 1.20.
Now, my preference is not to have achievements awarded retroactively. But I think that largely depends on what type of achievements they've set up. Will they be similar to the player history on Lodestone, just a bunch of milestones? "Reach level 35 on Pugilist", "Discover all 24 camps", "Complete 100 local leves". I can never level Pugilist back to 35, so if that's one type of achievement they've added, they'll have to be unlocked right away. And it's not like I can rediscover the camps or undo the local leves.
Hopefully the achievements will it be something a little less mundane and a bit more fun, "Defeat an NM naked" or some such thing.
If I recall correctly, the in-game achievement and the Lodestone player history are going to remain separate. I thought a Dev or Yoshi-P said that somewhere, but I read a lot of stuff on these forums and just might be remembering a statement someone made that fits with what I think they should do. -

They're not incorporating the Lodestone History into the achievement system? Well, that's just silly. They're milestones, just like everything else you accomplish. And they show just how long you've been playing.
I don't buy the idea that it's somehow unfair to others not to have those things unlock retroactively. I've been here since Beta, I think I should have something to show for it. That actually really annoys me.
I expected to log in to 1.20 and have the achievements that mirror my Lodestone History automatically unlock. -

OCD ppl like me LOVE achievements, unlocking every little one. My main character in WoW has 7590 achievement points. I was looking forward to working for both the mundane and the epic. It would renew some interest in the game for me. -

And if all 300+ have no overlap with the Lodestone Character History even better, but my bet is there is going to be some overlap.
