Omega Storyline continue in 4.0 Raid? [discussion]

So the constant story build up for Omega through 2.X to 3.X era Main Scenario is just for the upcoming 4.0 8 member raid and will not be required to progress in the Main Storyline.

However, it is still a very important part of 4.0 Main Storyline despite not being required.

What are your opinion about this for 4.0?

In my opinion I feel a bit robbed as the Omega storyline has been slowly built up as something important since 2.X but suddenly dropped as Important Main Storyline but just a side content that is important for 4.0 Main Storyline but at the same time not part of 4.0 Main Storyline.

I know they did this for the garlean side of the 3.X Storyline being the Warring Triads Saga which felt more like a removed part of the 3.X Main Scenario but a part of this just felt a bit wrong in my opinion.

Though that does beg the question what will be 4.0 Main Scenario Final Boss if the long built up hype for Omega is not the Final boss or part of the Final Bosses.

I don't recall there being that much of a story build up for Omega. Firstly getting mentioned in a sidequest to unlock Frontlines, and secondly Teledji having some plans with the Carteneau Flats, but he didn't live long enough for the players to get all that much insight on what exactly he was planning.

I think it's a good thing that they picked something that already has a small bit of existence in the game world, further building upon that in the coming patch, followed by the actual 8-man raid in 4.0. This makes it so the playerbase is already familiar with who/what they're up against, making it easier for the raid's story to be interesting (Similar to the build up towards the Binding Coils, though in a smaller scale). Unlike Alexander, who kinda just appeared out of nowhere right after the player finished the 3.0 MSQ.

It seems pretty clear to me that we'll be dealing with Zenos yae Galvus at the end of the 4.0 MSQ.

Its just a part of them trying to break main story interests apart a bit so the 2.x series issue doesn't happen again. So I am ok with it. Its not less important story, its just said story better sorted.

But what if Zenos was only the Mid-boss of 4.0 Main Scenario?

Maybe among the system updates will be greater integration of side content into the main content, thus rewarding those who have completed it with a feeling of real change in their perception of the game world?

Would be a nice departure from the ending of Alexander, which just left everything behind in its literal bubble.

So it's basically like The Coil of Bahamut. Main story connected - ending 1.0, with the conclusion being side quests to enter the raid and getting the full story through those means. I actually thought Omega Weapon was just going to end up like Ultima's Bane. This is actually a pleasant surprise to find out it's the new raid.

Well depends on a "certain point of view".

1.0 story into Coil Raid was more as a conclusion to the 1.0 Main Storyline.

Omega into 4.0 Raid is basically putting a part of 4.0 Main Storyline as a separate content. Though I do question how Nero will play out in the 4.0 Omega Raid after everything he went through through 2.0 and Crystal Tower story.

Could probably be related to the complaint of alexander beign too disloged from the main story, in a way is exactly what coil was

What does Omega have to do with Ala Mhigan occupation? How much did they build up Thordan for the 3.0 Final Boss before 3.0?

Indeed, I think its a good move. I just hope that all of 4.xx is optional like this.
It also allows them to make it more challenging, having it aside for people that want to do it rather than forcing bads through it, then probably nerfing it into the ground.
