Garo x Final Fantasy XIV announced to involve PvP starts on Jan 17

They announced during the Live Letter that the next crossover event with be with the Japanese Anime/Tokusatsu franchise Garo. The event will be starting on January 17th.

Weapons, Armors and Mounts will be available from the Goldsaucer (non-dyable) and PvP (dyable).

Paladin will be getting the Golden Knight Garo armor and Ninja (which Rei Fujita mains) will be getting the Silver Knight Zero (character Rei Fujita plays) armor.

Dark Knight: Dark Knight Kiba/Barago
Dragoon: White Knight Dan armor
Ninja: Silver Fanged Zero
Other classes: Various Makai Priests/Alchemists

Mounts:
Garo's Golden Mado horse Goten
Zero's Silver Mado horse Ginga
Kiba's Black Mado horse Raigo

I really wish they werent job-locked... cuz that DRG armor would look awesome in my DRK.... lol

Are they confirmed job locked? I think it would be stupid to give ninja something plate like then monk has something completely different.

I'm glad we're getting a PvP oriented event, and that the PvP rewards are dyeable.

I don't want to hear any complaints from those that simply choose the Gold Saucer option because they refuse to try/don't like PvP.

As long as there is a non-pvp option I won't complain. It will probably be ridiculously grindy though with sets costing millions of MGP. That's my primary concern. I never watched the tokusatsu series but I did watch the anime, I desperately want the gold/silver/black armors at the minimum.

But it's a valid complaint to be unable to obtain the dyeable version of a collaboration event, if said player doesn't like PvP. I think both the PvP and the Gold Saucer versions should be dyeable.
People who enjoy PvP will be able to obtain it through PvP, people who don't enjoy PvP will be able to obtain it from the Gold Saucer, perhaps PvPers being able to obtain it a bit faster, as incentive. Bottom line being that collaboration events are supposed to be fun to participate in.

But enjoy PvPing with players who likely won't pull their own weight to obtain points for the event gear, since I doubt they'll be tied to winning PvP matches.

Yokai you had to do FATEs. I don't like FATEs, so I didn't do the event. I didn't complain. Wild concept.
