I was thinking at job system, pld is the absolutely tank material.
So, finally the tank is to the sword side.
However, looks like WAR gets some impressive hate control abilities. (While pug and mnk can rest a little from eva tanking.)
I think these can be the impressive hate/tanking skills, and skip the dmg side first...
red is my note ^^:
Cyan is for pld
purple is for war
Green is the abilities maybe can be used for both but temp. put to the same weapon side...
GLA Abl. 1 Temporarily reduces damage you sustain and increases enmity generated by actions executed while effect is active.
GLA Abl. 2 O Blocks the next attack made against you and grants HP in proportion to damage sustained.
GLA Abl. 3 Self AoE Temporarily increases the defense of all party members within range. Generates massive enmity. Woot!
GLA Abl. 5 Increases block rate and grants TP for each block made while effect is active.
GLA Abl. 6 Increases target's enmity. Traits may trigger an AoE and a chance to inflict Blind.
PLD Abl. 1 Redirects a melee attack against the target party member to you.
PLD Abl. 2 Grants a HoT effect on all party members within range when a healing spell is cast on you. what's HoT :O (Regen effect thx to Overkill9000. Then it;s not really for tank or enmity so I gray it out)
PLD Abl. 3 Grants imperviousness to melee attacks. Effect fades upon moving.
PLD Mag. 1 Restores target's HP. When cast on another player, restores 50% of their HP in addition to a portion of your own. Could be super hate generator.
GLA WS 7 Shield attack. Chance to inflict Stun.
Block
∟GLA WS 8 Self AoE Increases enmity of all enemies within range. Can only be used immediately after blocking an attack.
GLA WS 1 Melee attack. Damage increased when executed from in front of the target.
∟GLA WS 2 Melee attack.
Combo: GLA WS 1, Bonus: Increased enmity.
Warriors have:
MRD Abl. 1 Increases target enmity. Traits may trigger a chance to reduce target's attack power.
MRD Abl. 2 Increases parry rate. Effect fades upon parrying an attack.
MRD Abl. 3 Grants Absorb HP effect to next attack. Absorb hp count as double hate? dmg enemy and cure self...
MRD Abl. 5 O Increases attack speed and defense for each attack against you, and restores HP for each crit you land. Effect fades upon moving or reuse. Cannot be used simultaneously with MRD Ability 4.
WAR Abl. 1 Redirects a portion of the next damage you sustain back to its source. donno how much portion this is quetionable
WAR Abl. 3 Redirects enmity generated by target party member's next attack to you. do it with full-buffed DD + ws = super hate
WAR Abl. 4 Self AoE Increases the maximum HP and attack power of all party members within range, and removes any Sleep effects. Stuns all enemies within range. this is wow I think
MRD WS 1 Melee attack. Accuracy increased when executed from in front of the target.
∟MRD WS 2 Melee attack.Combo: MRD WS 1, Bonus: Increased enmity.
It's really hard to tell who will win again. but if to the past experience... might be ___ XD leave to you guys to decide or I'll get suit by some union again for spreading rumor :eek:

Depends, we also don't know anything post 1.21 yet. Gladiator and MRD still have their uses, with the introduction of PLD in 1.21 it will likely be the go to tank since it will have the ability to hold hate even better, since enmity is generated through actions, healing and damage, one thing MRD/WAR will lack.
