Gcd between Hot Shot and Lead Shot?

I've been noticing it more and more, but I always seem to have 5 seconds when I go to refresh Lead Shot after Hot Shot. Just due to the itemization of the gear I picked, I have 768 skillspeed. Should I toss a gcd between Hot Shot and Lead Shot instead of always keeping them together?

I'm not sure I follow, they both have a duration of 30 seconds and this duration is not affected by skillspeed or anything.

So, for example, if you hit the target with Lead Shot 2 seconds after you hit it with Hot Shot, exactly 30 seconds later Lead Shot will drop off 2 seconds after Hot Shot drops off - the timing gap between them doesn't change, and this gap is the same as when you applied them.

The only way there would be a 5 second gap is if you applied Hot Shot, waited a long time and then applied Lead Shot, or you refreshed Hot Shot early (in which case you'll be 'early' for Lead Shot by the same amount as well). It doesn't have anything to do with skill speed.

It may be that you're refreshing Hot/Lead too early? If your skill speed really is that high, then having to start casting at roughly 3-4 seconds left may become having to start refreshing at 1-3 seconds left. Either way there should be nothing impeding them being used back to back. If you're clipping Lead Shot try refreshing them both a GCD later.

^ This, maybe you're not noticing it but you are probably refreshing hot shot too early, just do another GCD before you refresh HS and LS if you have 5 seconds left on hotshot. Don't put any GCD skills between those two or you're just making your life harder.

It can happen if you have to switch target due to a phase change as well, in this case you are pretty much forced to apply a new Lead Shot without refreshing your Hot Shot since it will be up already most likely.
