SpS on SMN anima?

Working on the customizing step of my anima. I've put 120 points into Crit already, and am thinking of going heavy on the Spell Speed.

From what I've gathered, Det is preferred over SpS on the SMN anima, but only by a small margin..?

So I'm thinking of going heavy SpS for the quality of life. Having ever so slightly shorter casts will do wonders for how comfortable I am in instances. I also have no intention of touching current Ex/Savage content. I've only ever bothered with Ravana and Bismarck so far.


TL;DR Can I put upwards of 120 SpS on my SMN anima, keeping in mind I don't intend on doing hardcore raids?

would've have to much SpS even if your doing Hardcore raids. it better to go DeT

The difference on DET and SS is not huge. I'm going into CRT and SS.

In my DTW rotation I can output 6 R3 a tridisaster, a R2 + Fester and then a Deathflare and in my opnion it is worth.

Fester ruin 2 Deathflare. gains a more of a boost with det then SS and i can get get 5 R3 a tridisater a R2 and fester before deathflare. A extra ruin 3 isn't worth the dmg

If you're not into savage then by all means go spell speed. As Brindyr already mentioned the difference in dps is marginal and SS has a lot of utility. Sometimes it means the difference between getting that spell off before the running away from aoe or taking a hit to the face, for example.

it absolutely is. smns should even use ruin III here and there out of trance while waiting for cds if your mp management is good. ss boosts dots as well and hardcasting ruin III, shadow flare or emergency res with low ss kinda sucks. but yeah since i saw the stat-weights changes im just waiting to see the whole ss vs. det discussion going to the next level ;3

SS is better. With current gear, which has many ss/acc and crit/det pieces (despite pants and one other 270 gear i think) you end up with enough DET anyway if you focus on crit maxing and acc cap.

With new AP weights I go for Crit/SS, melds included. Last raid tier most crit-gear was Crit/ss, so I'm used to it.

You get 88 + 330 + 440 with that. 220 + 440 + 300 (if you can't get fester off within DWT) is better.
