Just something small that drives me crazy

Its probably just me , but it really bothers me that in apartments when you log out inside your apartment you log back in outside of it by the market board. I have heard similar with houses as well, I know when i log out of game in fc house i log back in and Im outside. Why cant it be like the inn room cut scene for me it would add more realness to the game. Other people I have asked have mention the same thing I know its bigger issues but it just bugs me jw if anyone else had any thoughts on the issue.

Apparently the rule was added because of a problem when someone had logged out in an FC house, and then I'm not sure if the FC disbanded or just abandoned their house, but when the player logged back in, the house they'd been in was no longer there, and it caused an error in logging them back in.

Personally, I still think SE would have done much better to put the fix into a rule that basically says "if the position you'd last been in is no longer available, then return to a position just outside." rather than the current rule that we always return outside. It's a rare enough problem that it seems the solution should have been more directly targeted to just those cases where the problem actually exists rather than all the time.

An inn room is fine, because when you log back in, the room is the same.

But a house or apartment could undergo various changes. What if someone puts a furniture piece right underneath where you are standing? Is the game going to acknowledge you being there?

I mean look what happened to when apartments were introduced. People who logged out where the "gate" was spawned out of bounds

It wouldn't really matter, since all furniture is permeable. You'd just appear where it is, the same as if you walked into it, or if you teleported/resurected into the same spot where another player is.

(A lot of furniture has collision detection for a second or two, but if you continue to face into it and walk/run forward, after a second or so, that collision detection ends and you'll pass straight through it. So furniture can never trap you, even if it was placed while you were away.)

I think the only real problem is when the house or room itself is gone, but as I said in my previous post, that's a pretty rare circumstance, and could have been handled better.

Exactly, it's not something you should want because the potential problem of not being able to log in at all really outweighs the minor inconvenience of needing to click a zone if you should happen to want back in at the time.

I totally get it now I didn't no the problem was that deep , so I totally get it know just wish it wasn't so, ha just makes me feel like somewhat of a visitor to my own place. But I dont want any log in problems either so I guess its just something that must be overlooked ha.

Well, the room's interior instance doesn't exist yet, but it doesn't exist yet when you enter through the door, either. The servers create the interior when it's needed. To log back in within the house, that creation of the interior would have to be included as part of the login process (or return from duty process, as the same issue comes up there) whenever your last position was in a house or apartment.

And all he claims there is that it's difficult, but that's just SE code for saying they haven't done it yet. (Yes, I'm sure there is some genuine difficultly in setting it up, but so is there with every other feature they implement. The fact that something takes work doesn't mean they can't do it.) It's just that at the time, they hadn't decided it was worth the effort. But that was two years ago. There are a lot of things they hadn't yet put the effort into implementing two years ago that we have now. There's no particular reason to think this couldn't be one of the next ones.

This is a feature they could implement, but haven't done so yet. It's perfectly valid for players to point out the feature is desirable. Maybe if enough do, then SE will decide it's worth putting in.

I really hope they do I mean outside of feeling like a house what is the point in having one. Most of the things I,ve crafted so far cant even really interact with, so whats the point in going to an apartment just to sit in it when you know your gonna get kicked out of it as soon as u log out of the game. I mean you characters actually blink , when you walk in the snow it leaves foot prints. They said apartments wont be demolished , so I don't see why they couldn't at least do them like they do the inn rooms , I personally would get a much more realistic feel of having a home if I logged into it , this would make me feel like it was mine instead of just getting kicked out of it like I'm some impostor or something.
