Stormblood question

I am not from the US, so when it says it is releasing early summer 2017 is that like around june/july like the previous expansion?

Hypothetically. They did acknowledge that it could be pushed back, ala "Spring" release of Heavensward.

June is the start of Summer.

They said they made it a summer release because they didn't want to repeat the push back they did in Heavensward. In Heavensward they were behind schedule. Last word on Stormblood's development is that it is ahead of schedule.

I would expect it in early summer if they keep to the current release information.

The reason i asked is because i was reading around people are thinking that it won't be released until like october, which i find hard to believe.

The time between 2.5 and 3.0 was about 5 months. I would expect something similar this time around until more news comes out in the future.

What kind of backward people who live in a digitally connected planet still use seasons to communicate a period of time in a global market?

They didn't say that. They said it's summer instead of spring to avoid a potential delay like Heavensward.
