DPS restrictions in Raid Finder for Savage raids

I've been waiting for the past 5 hours for a Raid Finder (RF) to A10S (Breath of the Creator Savage) and it has been stuck at 2/2 2/2 2/4 or 2/2 2/2 3/4

First, it is already difficult enough to get people to do this content. The RF was supposed to fix that by combining demand across the data centre.

But it seems that the 2 range and 2 melee dps restriction is imposing unnecessary difficulty in forming a party on top of the elevated ilevel requirements.

There is a possibility there were dps who somehow did not fit the restrictions who might have wanted to join the RF but due to the restrictions could not and resulting in this exceedingly protracted and unacceptable wait.

The other possibility (which I find really hard to believe) would be only 6 players across the whole data centre who are interested to do a RF for A10S....are you joking? only 6 people on the whole data centre across multiple servers wanting to do A10S. If that is true, it is truly miserable.

The last unlikely possibility is that people simply don't know about this RF function or worse, the content is simply so bad that nobody actually is interested in doing it.

For content that is already struggling to find players, perhaps for a start, remove this 2 range / 2 melee dps restrictions. At the very least, remove this restriction for the Alexander Savage in Raid Finder. Any tiny bit will help. Maybe a slight tweak to the ilevel requirements would be great too.

SE made a bet about doing content bcz is fun. But they discovered that is done to get new equipment and if an easiest way is avaliable that content becames useless.

Actually the second possibility is the most likely.

The vast, VAST majority of people on NA/EU data centers only raid in statics due to weekly lockout and ease of progression.

As such, actual PUGs are few and far between.

Minor correction:
The vast, VAST majority of people doesn't raid at all.
The vast majority of the people who DO raid do so in statics.

Raid finder is great for what it is for. You are getting a cross server party finder to put true pug groups together in 3.5. For now, it is good mainly for finding subs for your static group for savage or doing EX primals.

Because they couldn't make it accessible from level 1? It's a gear and level independent content, there's no point in gating it.

Now, if you were to ask why they made Palace of the Dead such a type of content in the first place however, then your point might have some validity. According to the latest unofficial census I could find (there are no official ones), 67% of the "active" NA character base (because unofficial censi can only count characters, not players) cleared 3.0 MSQ and 52,7% at least cleared it up to the most recent expert dungeons - Only about 35% however cared (or was able) to finish it fully. That's a pretty hefty jump (and in fact by far the biggest fall off between the measured periods there is), but if you assume that people are averse to difficulty and realize that Nidhogg, a by MSQ standards fairly difficult trial, was in the way, that becomes rather self-explanatory. The number and effect of alts can unfortunately only be guessed.

That said...this post is off topic and only serves for context.

Only reason I can see this is because of the way certain mechanics work in savage. For example, certain mechanics will only choose healers or ranged, and having a party full of them, makes the mechanic go a little wonky by having a bigger pool to pick from. This is slightly trivial and can be worked around, but I could see it being a reason. Another reason could be LB building. Having duplicate jobs makes the LB build slower than a party of all different jobs. Thats all I could come up with really.

Actually it's not 2 range, 2 melee. It's 1 melee, 1 caster, 1 support, +1 any. So it may be that you were indeed missing a brd/mch etc. But for mechanics and dps checks etc you want that balance. I get that it's frustrating when you just want to get in there, but unbalanced parties can cause a lot of problems. The other issue is yes, the RF pool is small due to the difficulty of gordias, midas. They weren't puggable, so there wasn't much point in even trying. RF might pick up with creator being so relatively easy though.
