Alternative Gamepad camera control for Flying Mounts

Maybe I'm the only one out there with this problem, but even after so much time has passed since Heavensward release, I'm still having issues with how "unintuitive" the camera control feels to me when using flying mounts.
Basically the direction you're facing is used for the direction the mounts goes if you press forward on the right stick, which makes you unable to look around while flying on a mount
There are a few tricks involving simultaneous press of the Y or B button while rotating camera but they're very unprecise and uncomfortable.

I'm not claiming that everyone should feel the way I do, but maybe as a QoL improvement SE could add a second, alternative, camera control mode for flying mounts, more similar to the majority of games out there, allowing us to fully enjoy rotating camera while flying on a certain direction. That way everyone would be happy: the people who are fine with the current system, and the people like me who would warmly welcome an alternative system.

Once you've trigered Auto-run, you're free to move the camera around you without chaging direction.

As Reynhart said, but also I'm not sure I know what you mean anyhow. I do understand that it's difficult to control the direction you're moving if, for example, you have the camera pointed at your face, but that's also the case for land travel (just that you can't go up and down unexpectedly) and pretty similar to any game I've ever played, with the exception that you can ascend and descend with buttons on this game, which is a bit less common and makes for much easier control in my opinion. I really can't picture what sort of control scheme you're looking for.

Have you disabled the "Activate standard type auto-fly" option?

OP is basically saying that the right stick is being used for steering, which is different than when your mount is moving on ground. Inconsistent, and annoys me just as much. Maybe it was something that was overlooked during implementation and no one brought it up.

Has anyone come up with a way to fix this?
