Can't enter raid if anyone has a penalty from Duty Finder

Discovered last night that we couldn't enter raid at the planned time, because one of our members had some time left on a duty finder penalty.

We were a full group of 8, and this was never an issue in the days before Raid Finder... Is this working as intended?

I'm not 100% if this has always been the case but I've assumed so. I've always stayed away from DF 30 mins before raid time and told my group members to do the same.

Yes, it's supposed to work that way.

It wouldn't be a penalty otherwise?

I think there's something wonky going on.... My friend left a POTD group after they kicked me for a stupid reason, and an hour and a half later, we tried to join again (we had stayed in group together while we both went afk) and it said he had a penalty. We tried again and then it let us in. Was very weird.

It's a feature since palace of the dead was released. Is it working as intended? I guess that's what SE puts it under, but no it should not be that way. Question is just do you care that much that you would open a topic in the bug report forum?

Well before Raid Finder was a thing, you could still access the raid through the open world entrance even when members had a penalty.

It just seems that implementing Raid Finder also included a stealth buff to the penalty system!

I'm aware of that. It's just that I've always considered entering through an NPC and the DF essentially the same thing and never pushed my luck. I think it's good practice to be prepared for raids well ahead of time anyway, get your food/potions/repairs, eat irl, prepare snacks/drinks, take your bathroom break, say goodbye to your family, lock the door, close the curtains etc.

Even if the penalty wasn't a real thing before raid finder, I'm completely fine with it being there now.

Seems silly to apply this to full groups. It accomplishes nothing beyond being an inconvenience for the other members.

That doesn't mean you can inconvenience 3/7 other people because you had to leave due to your raid that you knew about before queuing.

A penalty is a penalty.
