Hey all!
My FC is looking into upgrading to a large house with the new housing coming. However we have a number of questions that I don't trust Reddit to answer. Hopefully you can help!
1) When we demolish the house, what happens to our airships? We will need to re-level them? Can we strip them of the parts to reuse those parts later?
2) What about personal rooms? I've seen some people say you can just demolish the house and it demolishes the rooms with it. Other people have said that the rooms need to be demolished BEFORE we can even demolish the house. Anyone know definitely which it is?
3) What about stabled chocobos? My assumption is that they need to be unstabled before we can remove the stables in order to demolish the house. That sound about right?
Our biggest issue is that we may have to kick players from the FC if we can't get the word to them about demolishing rooms and unstabling chocobos, which wouldn't really be ideal.

I've never done it personally, but it's my understand that rooms have to be destroyed before it lets you demolish the estate. Either by the person doing it themselves, or you kicking them from the FC (which will demolish their room at that time).Quote:

So, another option we are now entertaining is having one of our officers buy the land and sit on it until our current house is situated with personal rooms and chocobos. Could we do that? Just sit on the land until the other house is demolished and then build the new one?

How you run your FC is obviously up to you, but I'd suggest the simplest thing you can do is just tell your members that they need to demolish they room/fetch their chocobo by 1 day before 3.3 drops (or whatever works for you) and if they haven't done that by then, you will be temporarily kicking anyone out so you can do that so you can accomplish the demolish without issues the next day. If they're given warning and told in advance any kick will just be temporary (for the good of the FC as they're holding things up!) would many people really complain?
The next Live Letter is due on the 22nd I believe so we'll likely get the 3.3 date then so you can plan accordingly. Do recommend you have all rooms demolished/stable emptied BEFORE 3.3, I have no idea how busy it'll be on your server, but I'm expecting a mad rush and you don't want to lose a valuable new property because you can't demolish quickly etc. -

Depending on how popular your server is, having the officer buy up a large plot and sit on it probably is the best call. We don't know how good the moving feature is going to be, but it's got to have at least some benefits over the current system. I definitely wouldn't trust a large plot (let alone one in a location you like) to still be available by the time the moving feature comes out.
Also, friendly reminder that the housing reclamation system is on hold, and may not be coming back, so waiting 45 days to get 80% of your gil back is no longer an option. Assume any money you spend on house plots is gone forever.
