4.0: a new start for the relic?

When 4.0 comes along is it likely that the relic will also start anew liken Hw.

Basically, new players without a relic start from there whereas players who have the Hw one can change it into the new one and skipping a step?

4.0 is a bit far off, but I can se SE doing something like that. Though hopefully if they do the whole trade in thing, it's actually worthwhile. I'd have loved it if my Zeta skipped crafted mats part instead of the easy crystal part. I felt a bit cheated when I traded in my Longinus Zeta.

It's more likely that they will follow a similar model with the next expansion. However, it seems a bit early days to talk about it. If it's a question of whether it's worth investing time in a relic that you won't need in the next expansion, then there is never a good time to do a relic (or in fact getting any gear) because there will be a new one around the corner.

I am not even going to bother lol no more grind for me I had enough lol

As a player who is currently going through the post 2.0 content and HW It is more a question whether or not it is worth it to start the Heavensward relic Quest or if I should wait till 4.0 to see if they do the same "start relic Quest from here or exchange the old ARR relic for the new one and thereby skip a step?

Well you can always wait because the relic gets nerfed into the ground. There were people doing 2.0 relic when HW launched to get the last step. It wasn't that bad that people were asking if they should do all the steps to skip the first. You can wait and then decide. Then again I did not do the old relic and just did the crystal grind. It took me 12 hours of playtime to get all the crystals. It wasn't that bad.

Honestly if you ask yourself will relic be worth doing in 4.0 vs now I'm not sure. Right now it's glorified glamour unlike in 2.0 when it almost was a requirement for a while for endgame early on. You can get a tome weapon in 7 weeks vs the current relic which may take the casual player months, it still may not be best in slot as of yet for some clssses. Also I have all the beast tribes maxed out with rep and that has helped me. It's not required for relic but makes it alot easier. I know as a new player you may not have that yet so it's something to consider.

Funny how predictable they've gotten. We know with most certainty what we can expect in 4.0. Sad.

I will be sad if we really do have to consume or toss it for 4.0 D: she is finally talking to me. She is alive T.T

To be fair, they could add exactly what everyone wanted and there would STILL be complaint threads on the forums saying they did it wrong, or its boring, or too grindy, or w/e.

Let's just hope the 4.0 relic questline will be available at the launch of the expansion this time.
