Suggestion : Recipe for improving quality

Craft can be frustrating...sometimes, you have everything. The skills, the stats, the HQ mats...but RNG is just not with you and you end in a NQ craft.

What if crafters could improve their items with another craft ?
For example, you use 3 items in their NQ version and one Dark Matter cluster, and boom ! you can recraft your item for a new chance of HQ without having to gather all components again. (And if you still end with a NQ, you'll just redo it again...)

And of course, the difficulty and durability of the improvementt would always be the same as the craft itself.

Not harder, not easier, just another chance.

People could just try over and over and over again until hq again then. There'd be no reason to have a good rotation if you could just try over and over until you get it right without losing the mats.

No no.
If you break and lose the mat, you're done. It's only if you have several NQ results, that you could try this new craft.
The problem is that, even if you have a good rotation, sometimes, you fail several hasty touch in a row, of worse, you fail your Byregot's Blessing...or end with a NQ despite having 98% chance of HQ.

Besides, by definition, you'd have to do this craft using only NQ mats. So, it's really only for crafters that already have the gear and the rotation to do the initial craft without any HQ materials.

I meant that you could just get it to 10% quality, then finish progress, and repeat it until it's eventually hq. You don't need a rotation. Low probability of hq doesn't matter if you can do it an unlimited number of times. It's usually fairly easy to get the progress done, although it may take several steps for super high end recipes.

I mean like this: Make nq at 10%, redo for nq at 10%, redo for nq at 10%, . .. blah blah blah eventually that 10% works and you get high quality. You'd have to limit the number of reattempts to make it reasonable, since it's pretty easy to not break the thing. For example, I can easily get the high mithrite ingots to completion with muscle memory, 2 x piece by piece, and like 3 or 4 careful synthesis 2 under ingenuity. I'll have enough cp for a bunch of hasty touches too. I can then just keep doing it until I get enough hasty touches for a decent success rate with no reason to optimize my rotation if there's an easy redo option. I've accidentally hqed lots of things at the default 1% rate.

More like "Make 3 of them NQ at 10%, fuse them to redo the craft at 10%, make 2 more NQ and fuse them with the previous NQ to redo the craft at 10%, make 2 more NQ and fuse them with the previous NQ to redo the craft at 10%...etc"

When you know what you're doing than RNG doesn't become much of a factor. For me personally, and I'm not a very good crafter, I have a 100% HQ rate with all HQ items. I have to really, really, really screw up stupidly to get NQ (like not watching my CP so that I can't even cast BBlessing or being completely oblivious like 'oh, the condition is poor. damn it all!' kind of stupid) I'd say I have a 85 ~ 90% chance with all NQ to get a HQ. Then you have other crafters on my server like Small Hobbit and he doesn't use many HQ items at all, even when doing 2 stars, and he gets HQ almost 100% of the time.

It's a mini game. When you figure it out then you're set. I did feel the same way as you. I just looked and you're at the level I was at when I thought HQ crafting was impossible. I really had to relearn how to craft again. Once it clicked, I was able to move on.

However, and this is a big however, I don't think I'd've been opposed to something like this during my 50+ leveling (before I figured how to do it) and even as a fresh level 60 with starter gear. It is a rough learning curve when you first start out.

I'm not a high level crafter mysefl.
I thought about it when a friend crafted all my anima items, and, despite having the absolute best gear in his specialists, managed to do NQ when failing 5 Hasty touch in a row, or ending with a NQ with 98% HQ chance.

for some stuff would be easy/lazy/bot just make dozens using quick synthesis, then keep fusing to get hq.
For expensive material things would be pointless because the cost.

with the use of at least 1 hasty touch, you have enter in the game of RNG and become prey of RNG gods. So then you need of a rotation with 0 or the lesser hasty touch possibles if not want to have posibilities of NQ

So basically, you want a Crafting Echo?

Honestly, it's very unlikely that they'll implement something like this. Crafting isn't the main focus of the game (For most) and has nothing locked behind your ability to HQ an item outside of the storyline so there is very little reason for them to put in a "safety net" system such as this. I'd agree it would be useful when recipes become obsolete if not for the fact that new Crafting gear typically makes HQ'ing older recipes extremely easy already.

With proper preparation, a good rotation, and decent gear it is possible to 100% guarantee a 3* HQ Craft, and that's the intent. That's the Endgame, the entire reason for progression is to reach that point and a safety net system reduces the drive for a player to improve. Also there already exists a sort of safety net through Reclaim, even if it isn't a 100% guaranteed save.
