On our server they are pushing 5 million gil ;_; way out of range of our small FC. I figured it was worth asking if anyone randomly had a few extra they didn't have use for. Cheers!

So basicly you're asking for 5M for free. Honestly, that isn't how the game works. i doubt anyone would just give that away like that to a stranger ^^ Although i agree, prices are quite stupid
Let me re-phrase what the OP's remark should have been...
"Dear SE. Please make seasonal event items (such as Cherry Blossom trees), re-purchasable via the Calamity Salvager, where all other seasonal event items are located, if we've already completed the event."
If SE implemented the above and then still allowed those trees to be sold on the market board you wouldn't see them going for 5 - 10 mil per tree; which is completely asinine. They would even out at an affordable rate.
SE keeps shoving seasonal event based housing items down our throats with no way to re-purchase once the event has passed. They then turn around and make anyone with "extra's" able to put them on the market board for over the top prices and allow players to greedily gouge each other.
At this point, I'm not convinced they'll ever fix it because If we, the players, start hoarding seasonal event housing items to take advantage of this broken system we'll eventually run out of bag space. This would force us to buy more retainers, which in turn means we give SE more money. Sneaky hobbitses, we see right through you.
GG, SE. GG.
I would say that holds entirely true for some event items, as they're bought at a vendor for gil and can then be resold on the market for gil. My waifu and I actually do hoard them now, for potential future use or resale, though we haven't actually sold any yet. We just leveled a mule up to hold onto them, it wasn't worth taking up any of our retainer slots, but you're absolutely right about it.
However, as for the Eastern Cherry Tree, those were a pain to acquire, albeit not challenging. Anyone hoarding those, put a lot of extra time into trying to get what they have. I wanted a lot, for my house, for my FC house, for my waifus house, and potentially extras down the road if we upgraded any of the houses, so I spent hours farming the maps for them and I even hired someone through PF to help me get more. I paid 75k per tree at the time of the event, and bought around a half a dozen or so at that price, which is considerably cheaper than they are now, but still worth a lot more than any furnishing before or since during it's event.
We collected around fifty total, most of them are sitting on one of the properties, and I have a literally grove on mine because I absolutely love the trees. I don't know whether they will eventually bring the item back or not, though if I had to guess the only option is cash shop. We will just have to wait and see.
@OP No, you are being a bum asking people to give you "a few" trees that go for 5 mil each! That's how much they are on my server too. If you want them so bad go out and make some gil and buy them yourself. (Like anyone even believes you wouldn't sell them)
@Everyone else that isn't a bum; SE really should have past seasonal event furnishings available during the current years events. There is no reason not to.
(This is just my theory) I don't think SE will sell furnishings on mogstation because if a player bought several housing items on their credit card, put them in their house, then real life drama happens so they can't enter their house for 45 days... they lose not only their house but the items they paid for The player could then have their credit card company do a charge back, and SE would come out on the short end of the stick. (<- Have no idea how that will translate into Japanese)
Pretty sure it wouldn't play out like that. You would be talking about a 45+ day gap between your original purchase and the loss of the furnishings, and digital goods sales contracts are rather aggressive and leave little to no recourse or guarantee for the buyer.
Ew, chill you gross kid. The prices are blatantly gouged - ie, the items are not and were never worth that much. They're at that price now but the price history has no buys at that level. Also I did end up getting one from a nice gent on my server via pf and it's sitting neatly on our FC lawn ^_^. Maybe I expected too much from the OF, lol. Take your negative narrative and spew it elsewhere.
I wasn't around for the event for these trees and would really love one or two for my house (yard still looks so bare), but they are way out of my price range. ;_; I have barely enough to buy one which is not something I'd buy to go broke over. I agree with the notion of them being added to the Calamity Savager where other people can buy them, then maybe they would come down in price and I could finally buy one. They just look so pretty! And are based on trees that I would also love to see in real life. Well maybe one day. :)
Some context before we get in to the weeds here. There was another thread about these trees where someone offered extras. I didn't make it in time for those, so I made another thread in the off chance there was another kind soul out there like that.
I was just an FC leader trying to come through on something out of reach for my crew at the moment, and frustratingly out of reach because it's arbitrary. If they went with the cash shop, the trees wouldn't be more than 3 bucks irl. But out of the woodwork comes some prototype gordian neckbeard on his high horse spewing vitriol. You can think of me as a bum, but if you didn't have trees to give, you didn't need to click on the thread.
I appreciate the response and the bit of wisdom, but I only made this thread in the first place because someone else offered the same trees (in another thread I didn't quite make it in time to). This was just in the off chance there was another person like that out there. A low probability, I know. Still, not sure if it warranted such backlash. Some random asking for some trees shouldn't ruffle feathers lol.
