I hope Briardien stays in Ishgard for the scholasticate and Hildi gets a new sane person to deal with his antics. Super excited for more Hildibrand in any case, though.

Yay, I guess...
I mean, the quests were fun, but at this point I kind of want some more "serious" side quest stuff... Mail Mog needs a season 2, Winebaud's Riddles could provide a great questline, or even better we could get new Grand Company ranks with an actual story attached to them? I'd love something like that. Heck, even the Doman Adventurer's Guild could do with more sidequests... There's a lot of potential side quest material which just isn't getting used, instead we get hilarious face contortions I guess? Looking forward to it regardless, but I'd still rather have seen some of the other side quest potential fulfilled in 3.0 and then had Hildy return for 4.0. Back to back Hildibrand runs the risk of becoming stale, eventually he is going to need a significant break to build anticipation... -

I'm not a fan. It was fine in moderation but it's going to become very stale rather quickly if we end up not getting any more serious side quests. I'll be bitterly disappointed if he ends up arriving for the Scholasticate quests because they were marketed as being something new and different. Such things are tolerable for me when confined to a specific set of quests. I turned my back on WoW because it stopped taking its lore seriously and sought to make as many quests as possible into pop culture references/jokes. If FFXIV goes down that same route then I suppose I'll take my leave as well. :(
