No CP or GP jewelry for Goldsmiths at 60?

The entire purpose of Goldsmith is to make jewelry and yet you gave away almost all of the jewelry with CP and GP to Carpenter and Leatherworker? At level 50, Goldsmith had CP Rings, CP/GP Earrings, CP/GP Bracelets, and CP Necklaces. I accepted that Leatherworker had the GP Rings, GP Necklace, and GP Belt because those made sense. It made sense that Gatherers would want something more sturdy than soft metal around their necks, fingers, and wrists while they are doing hard manual labor.

However the lack of CP/GP gear at level 60 makes no sense and it removes the only major money maker that Goldsmith had at level cap. Next to no one buys adventuring jewelry at level cap. There is literally no point in it when the materia meld system is so RNG driven, so expensive and time consuming, and the resulting gear is no better than gear you can get easily through grinding dungeons.

You have given away our money making rings, necklaces, and bracelets to Carpenter. This means that after grinding 60 levels, Goldsmith are left with only earrings to make money off of... and those earrings aren't even ilvl 150, they are ilvl 120 with only 2 more GP over the ilvl 110 gear you make for level 52 harvesters? Seriously wth?

Not only is this broken from a money making balance point of view, this is stupid from a design point of view. How are Carpenters supposed to be making rings, necklaces, and bracelets for crafters? It makes zero sense. If I'm doing extremely dexterous work with my hands the last thing I want is some piece of wood splintering into my fingers and wood can't be imbued with the same magical properties that metal and gemstones can according to your own lore. Please tell me this was a mistake that will be corrected.

Oh no my craft that's had too high a monopoly on certain items no longer has it! This is /terrible/.

I think you need to invest in a dictionary. There was no monopoly to begin with and pointing out their mistake is not entitlement. The gathering stuff was on leatherworker and so was some cp stuff. There is nothing left for Goldsmiths now worth crafting except some of the 2 star items. That earring I mentioned is the only CP gear we have now and it has questionable worth given how little an upgrade over the level 52 version it is.

It can definitely be considered a bug to have them break the progression of items in such a huge manner and leave a crafting class neutered of its original purpose. You really think that taking away the only profitable non-2star items from the crafting class was intentional and well thought out? Seriously dude(tte), get a grip.

As for monopoly, why don't you talk to weavers about their monopoly on crafting and gathering clothing. /eyeroll

Didn't they already have to effectively "nerf" GSM at one point because their desynth was the only one worthwhile for a long time?

Also if you're serious you may want to look at the stickied thread at the top of this forum.... they will literally ignore your post completely if you don't use the template. It says "READ THIS FIRST" so they're not going to spend time on people who don't read it first...

GSM still has all of the DoW accessories. Gems and dissolvents and aether and stuff. And accessories catered to raiders were profitable, regardless of materia RNG.
ARR DoH accessories never used gems or had anything particularly special about them aside from just being shaped metal. So at best, I guess they helped your own aetherial conductivity/circulation so you could somehow craft better.
Going by all of the wooden staves and rods in the game, I don't see how wood would be any worse in that regard.

Wooden accessories can actually be pretty nice.

That's a beautifully-worked wedding ring and I doubt it's going to give anyone splinters.

I think you just need to explore more niches for making gil. Profiting as a crafter is more about taking advantage of opportunities--especially whenever there's a new patch--not so much about picking any particular craft. That's never changed.

I too was a little bummed out with the lack of crafting / gathering accessories on GSM at 60 tbh, and I did completely miss the money train when heavensward launched with LTW and CRP making those part, because I didn't have those classes yet ><

It's not the only avenue for making money, to be totally honest, I make more money from Gathering and Alchemist now than Goldsmithing will probably ever make me, but when friends come wanting HQ end game raiding accessories with crazy melds, I can make those easily LOL

Branch out, look around for what's hot, because crafted top sellers does change quite a lot tbh, it's never always the same things.

Wow man, that sucks that you can't level Leatherworker or Carpenter. Definitely an in game bug. Have you checked New Gridania for the classes? I think you can get them there, if I'm not mistaken.

Are you really serious? The answer to a class being broken is not to level another class. Would you tell WHM, SCH and AST to switch to MNK if the devs decided to put all the end game healing spells on MNK? Of course I can level Leatherworker and Carpenter, but how is that the answer to one class being broken? I swear some of you are Grade A imbeciles trying to talk a lot of s***.

It's called Goldsmith, not "accessory making crafter". There are other this GSM can make. Haven't you started extorting those Moogle Miniatures on people yet, for the relic? Better get on that.

If that is true, then no Conjuror has ever healed anyone in anywhere from anytime to level 30 ><

Goldsmith does have end game Crafting and gathering earrings, the iLvl 170 ones, Master book 3 (that's 360 blue crafters scrips)

if you're not lazy with gathering (namely miner and Botanist) you could easily make a holy butt load of gil making and selling those

might wanna level your other crafters first and to quote my most hated two words on this forum, 'git gud' :p
