@Devs: If you want people to pay, you need to improve your billing options. Period.

The single largest deterrent for subscribing for me at this point is the crappy payment options.

Click and buy is considered sketchy by most at best.

Buying crysta means you're on a points system, of which you're not likely to be spending the wholly purchased amount. Plus, there are ethical/legal implications to using such a system (http://www.pcworld.com/article/18786...ve_points.html).

Can we have direct billing like in XI? It was so simple and easy. What about PayPal?

This really needs to be bumped until we get a response. Please like this thread if you agree.

if FFXI's timetable for billing change is anything to go by (which it is) then the new billign options should be here by mid fall, with the last of them by the end of fall

These new methods involve direct CC without click and buy, and the option to buy crysta in any amount (FFXI players did A LOT of complaining to get these changed)

While I appreciate your saying this, such is no guarantee that we will receive the same system. I would really like an official response on this.

umm, FFXIV and FFXI use the same billing system, "Square Enix Account Management System" if one gets them the other gets them

Logic and sound reasoning. not in my xiv forums!

They got rid of direct billing for FFXI awhile ago which caused a huge uproar on the FFXI forums. But they did add some new features like paying for crysta with a credit card instead of just paypal. Will add the ability to buy exact amounts of crysta soon.

Because that's what SE used when they first thought making their players use a third party Web site to buy monopoly money on their own site was a good idea despite XI having a separate and direct payment method.

click and buy is not so bad. they do not charge 1 cent over the subscription cost.
