Diadem; Alliances
My Free Company has been running the Diadem as a 24-man group since it came out but the organization required to enact an Alliance and enter is excessively complex and yields very few benefits.
Primarily I think the following need to be addressed:- Implement an Alliance wide chat channel (#1 complaint)
- Allow us to see fellow Alliance members, waymarks, & flags on the map
Additionally loot from Diadem drops faster than it can be delegated via the Quartermaster - please look into giving us better looting tools for this!
Edit: Additional tweaks;
- Late join feature for Free Company members
- Stagger mechanics for loot & HP pool management (FFXI Abyssea)
For the future consider implementing:
- Hard "open" dungeons similar to the tunnels already on the isles surrounding the Diadem - but give us more combat objectives and include bosses from previous dungeons (Duty Finder content) in these dungeons.
- Allow for the arrangement of maps to be random and the placement of aetherial currents to be random as well rather than simply changing the entry points.
- Implement a "Skypirates Hest" or Leve system where we can spend Brass Spoils to undertake special objectives and fight Special Notorious Monsters that drop better equipment and high ranking materia. (see FFXI BCNMs/KSNMs/ZNMs)
- Timer extensions; this is key - with the amount of organization required for 24-man Alliances to form up please allow us to either unlock time extensions while in the Diadem or consider doubling the instance timer outright.

I like everything Dhex has listed, my list of issues is really the same.
I've been the leader of the alliance, party lead and a normal party member several times now.
Getting 24 people to the FC workshop, making sure everyone had gear of the minimum iLvl as well as everyone having their own Mission Ceruleum (No, not the Voucher...) was already a bit of mess. The fact that every time someone DC we lost the entire alliance as well as no indication that we were even in an alliance as a normal party member was frustrating. And that is before you even go in.
Once in you are separated from the other two parties, this is fine and keeps the initial minutes of unlocking flying somewhat exciting. For us, as each party unlocked flying we would try to go help other parties unlock flying. Not being able to see the dots on the map made this unnecessarily cumbersome.
Alliance wide chat would be extremely helpful... Not all 24 of us were in the same FC or even LS. We tried to use Teamspeak but it was just a cluster of voices...
Can we just get the alliance system we have for the other 24 man content? I would like to be able to see all the dots on my map as well as the UI frames so I can see who needs healing.
Dhex mentioned timer extensions, this would be really cool. Even if people started to drop out an extension would mean we could go gather or fight other things.
