Spiritbond for R50 DoH

I'm debating just how feasible this is, and if it's worth even keeping my dated tools to try max these out for materia creation. Based on the sizeable amount of XP required for this, I just don't see this happening unless I mindlessly grind on these max'd out classes for the sake of materia only. Now I wish all my R50 craft classes were R48 lol.

I'm not all that familiar with materia as of yet, but I imagine I have the best chance of creating DoH materia from DoH gear, so, if in fact, I'm correct here, this really sucks for those of us who have already capped crafting classes.

Since before the patch i've done a lot of DoL/DOH now i continue to do it, i've found that it is a good way to Spirit bond items and i can confirm that you do have a good chance of getting DoL/DoH meteria from converting the tools uesed. i dont know how good it'll be @ 50 but there are now 51-60 crafts so you maybe able to make it work.

There is two things i have noticed they may help you, 1st is Dated tools seem alot harder to convert then the new replacements, they just seem to bond alot slower, 2nd Dated tools seem to botch alot more then the new versions, after breaking down a few i decided just to ditch my dated tools and Spirit bond new ones this made me /cry becase i had some nice HQ ones but overall imo it was a good decision to do so.

what do you mean "botch"? do you mean that it tends to provide lower tier than new gear?

by botch i mean fail, the old Lvl X tools are harder to create and item then the new ones of the same level. i beleive this to be down the the diffrence in stats. just to confirm though i'm not saying if you want success & HQ's throw your old tools away. it is still possable to HQ and make the same items as before with old tools but my observation is that it is a lot harder to do so.

what i posted before is just my experance and i know some others may disagree, but i thought the info may help the OP.

Sure you're not trying to use a lvl42 tool at lvl40 or something? Because if you are below the lvl of the tool you get 0 craft 0 mag craft 0 control.

The whole system is weird...

My brother maxed out his entire velveteen set on blacksmith doing a synth that gives him 0 sp lol only takes 200 synths, bit tedious but it works, its cheap and its nuts XD

I think you actually might be able to get crafting materia simply from gear that has a majority of crafting stats on it, but I might be wrong. I have a crafting materia in storage but I didn't take a note of what I got it from. If you can get it from gear with crafting stats you can just battle in gear with those stats that are also DoW/DoM equippable.

That said I'm pretty sure you have a higher chance to get more "relevant" materia from converting tools/weapons. Both Dated Jade crooks I've converted have become Magic attack potency and Magic Crit potency.

I have a few crafting/gathering materia also probably more then what i would have got just from tools, all i can remember though is the ones i got from tools, i'm sure your correct any some gear may also convert but which it was i don remember.

My theory is that each piece of gears gain Spiritbond XP based on its own level, not the XP you gain yourself, because I myself spiritbonded my Velveteen Tight while my Dodore or Vintage stuff are like 20% only. Ring usually spiritbond the fastest as well.
