So I'm wondering what your preference is on this. I have had some groups ask me to use Selene because of fey Wind but then Eos has Fey Illumination which is nice for healing boost.

Eos is unnecessary for 99% of the game and it's arguable if you should even use her in the 1% where she'd help (Savage).
Selene all the way.
I use Selene in 8-mans and Eos in 4-mans, generally. In 4-mans, Whispering Dawn buys me more DPS time (at this point, I don't even leave CS in Neverreap/Fractal) which beats out any sort of bonus that Fey Wind buys the group; until Selene can handle it all with Embrace, which should be soon, I'll continue using EoS in 4-mans. In 8-mans, AoE healing should never be a problem, and the DPS that Fey Wind buys is far more useful than an AoE HoT (that mostly goes into over healing, depending on the encounter).
If you can heal fine with Selene out and not have people die you should use Selene for the speed boost and detrimental effect removal. It is really up to you though...you are playing the job not them and you do what you feel you are comfortable doing. Just listen to their reasoning and see if you agree and it has merit. Players are usually very helpful and try to make others better. When I was first learning scholar I always did content first with Eos for the "safety" of it and then once I saw where the fight was I then would go Selene to improve overall party efficiency in clearing the dungeon. you can always switch in the dungeon on the fly as well with swiftcast as long as you don't need it to rezz people so you can have the best of both worlds.
YOu cand have selen out and get the speed buff out and then swiftcast Eos for the healing...I don't really recommend this though because as scholar you can dps as well so I use my swiftcast on shadow flare most of the time. Still is up to you...play how you want and have some fun.
Exactly what GideonHighmourn said.
Eos for 4-man
Selene for 8-man
I only use Eos if the party is doing so bad that they need the heals. Team Selene!
Eos!! She's the best! I don't use Selene much anymore since they nerved her speed increase from 20% to only 3%. And Eos casts regens like a white mage and magic defense increase like a black mage lol!!!
Depends on the situation. As a general rule, when lining up solo for anything, I run with Eos because I don't know what kind of players I'm going to have to keep alive. For 4 mans, If the dps end up knowing how not to stand in the stupid, and the tank is decent with their cooldowns and whatnot, I'll switch to Selene after the first boss. For 8-man with randoms, I switch to selene if the other healer is a whm or a sch who already has Eos out, otherwise I stick to Eos.
If I'm running with a tank I know on 4-man, or a party of friends on trials/raids, I'll roll with Selene the whole way through unless we need the healing boost.
Eos is the prettiest though. She matches my hair.
