Collectibles rotation

so i decided to tackle the red scrip grind for miner
what are some good rotation for Collectibles.
im at 657 gathering and 636 perception with 603 gp
i need adamanite ore atm

For Adamantite Ore:

Discerning Eye -> Impulsive Appraisal -> Single Mind / Discerning Eye (Use Single Mind if Discerning Eye proc'ed from Impulsive) -> Impulsive Appraisal -> Single Mind / Discerning Eye (Same deal here, Single Mind if Discerning Eye proc'ed from Impulsive) -> Methodical Appraisal.

You'll get 482 item rarity and up to 4 possible gathers with a minimum of 2. It's the best rotation I'm aware of.

so is 530 not possible yet with my current stats?

You can easily get 530, you'll just need to use a different rotation.

Utmost Caution -> Implusive Appraisal -> Single Mind/Discerning Eye* -> Methodical Appraisal -> Utmost Caution -> Impulsive Appraisal -> Single Mind/Discerning Eye* -> Methodical Appraisal
*Same as before. This guarantees one collect, but you can get up to 3.

Also as a heads up further improvements to your perception will have no effect (you'll need more perception to tackle any legendary node collectables, however). Appraisals do have a cap unfortunately. The base for Methodical can't go past 115 and the base of Impulsive can't go past 103.

There is in fact a higher yield rotation for red scrip gathering. Here it is:

Impulsive > Impulsive > Utmost Caution + Single Mind + Impulsive > Utmost Caution + (If any of the first 3 proc, replace DE with Single Mind) Discerning Eye + Methodical.

This rotation has higher yield over time. It guarantees 2 gathers and with 3 impulsives you can get a 3rd gather rather easily.

• This rotation cannot get 4 gathers which is perfect RNG from what KyegimyaAsura posted: .3 x .3= .09(9%) chance to get 4 gathers.

Even so with a possible 4th gather, the rotation I mentioned is better overall, and can get 2x 530 collectability if 1 impulsive procs and you DE the final Method or perfect RNG proc on the 2nd and 3rd impulsive can get you 3x 530 collectables.

If you want a quick and simple rotation that gives 2-4 gathers on red scrips:
(DE+Impulsive) 155 + (DE+Impulsive) <proc> 155 +(SM+Methodical) 172 = 482 3 gathers
(DE+Impulsive <proc> 155 + (SM+Impulsive) <proc> 155 + (SM+Methodical) 172 = 482 4 gathers
(De+Impulsive) 155 + (DE+ impulsive) 155 + (DE+Methodical) 172 = 482 2 gathers

Aetherial reduction:
Non hidden item or no impulsive procs: Impulsive 103 + impulsive 103 + methodical 115 = clusters and shards. Go touch two nodes at two different locations and return.
Hidden item: Impulsive <proc> 103 + (SM+UC+Methodical) 172 + (UC+Impulsive) 103 + (DE+Methodical) 172 = 550 1 gather 8/8 purity
Impulsive Impulsive 103 + Impulsive <proc> 103 + (SM+UC+Methodical) 172 + (DE+UC+Methodical) 172 = 550 1 gather 8/8 purity

actually made a difference to the amount you got from turning them in (500-529) which it doesn't, and does matter because both skills would get you over 470 and 3 gathers.

The rotation I posted is greater because it has a more expected value in terms of overall yield. Sure you can get 4 gathers with the simple rotation you posted and only 3 gathers with reddits; although, the simple one can only get a 3rd gather at a 60%(.3 +.3) and 4th gather is a 9%(.3 x .3=.09) chance if 2 procs back to back. With the one I posted you have 3 chances at getting a 3rd gather at a 90% chance( .3 + .3 +.3).

Getting 4 gathers is great but I'm always getting 3 gathers at a 90% chance instead of 60%, and a slim 9% for that 4th gather. (correct me if im wrong)

To dumb down Alere's rotation (which is slightly better):

Utmost Caution + Single Mind + Impulsive >

• with proc: Utmost Caution + Single Mind + Methodical > Impulsive > Methodical (3 swings at 12 red scrips, 3 swings at 14 red scrips with proc on 2nd impulsive)
• without proc: Utmost Caution + Impulsive >
  • with proc: Single Mind + Methodical > Methodical (3 swings at 12 red scrips)
  • without proc: Impulsive > Discerning (Single Mind if proc) + Methodical (3 swings at 12 if Impulsive procs, 2 swings at 12 if no procs)

The math:
56.7% chance at 3 swings for 12 scrips
9% chance at 3 swings for 14 scrips
34.3% chance at 2 swings 12 scrips

Slightly better than the standard:
9% chance at 4 swings for 12 scrips
42% chance at 3 swings for 12 scrips
49% chance at 2 swings for 12 scrips

Thanks Rath for that overview of what to use on Ephemeral nodes. It can be a bit confusing because those nodes are only 4 hits. An easy method for ephemeral reduction gathering can go like this:

Put on Gathering Glove and keep it on.
Click a L60 node. Don't gather.
Click another L60 node that isn't paired with the first. Don't gather. This will reveal the ephemeral node.

At the ephemeral node, you want to maximize the impact of your GP. The goal is getting a hidden (L58 or L60) collectable at L8 purity to get a chance for the leafborne / landborne HQ for the big gilz.

If you have less than 600 GP, use the "no GP rotation" on the highest level collectable to get 1 collect at minimum of purity 2 and max of purity 4 (if the Impulsives proc).

• Impulsive appraisal
• Impulsive appraisal
• Methodical appraisal

If you have more than 600 GP, use the "no GP rotation" if there isn't any hidden collectable. If there is a hidden collectable:

• Impulsive appraisal - If this doesn't proc a Discerning Eye, then continue with the "no GP rotation". If it does proc, continue:
• Single Mind
• Utmost Caution
• Methodical Appraisal
• Utmost Caution
• Impulsive Appraisal
• If Impulsive Appraisal procs a Discerning Eye, use Single Mind. Otherwise, use Discerning Eye
• Methodical Appraisl

The above will get you either 1 or 2 collects at purity level 8.


I just did a single run (4 game hours) and got 572 crystals, 182 clusters, a duskborne, a leafborne and an HQ leafborne (jackpot!). I didn't use any cordial.


At current market, prices, that would sell for 170K without the HQ leafborne or 667K if you include it. Not bad!
