[Idea] Race: Allagan

I think a cool idea for a new race for FFXIV, based on the main storyline quest would be the Allagan's themselves.

Why do I think this interesting? As you can see from the picture it is obviously some kind of ship or UFO that has been floating for quite some time. What if it was a way for the last Allagan's to escape? The ship itself can be an instance and you travel to it, inside you find beings created by Allagans.

Also, they can be beings created from Allagan's that act as workers and handmaidens and proxies to speak with people.

The instance boss fights could be based off AI, and the race itself could be unlocked per server via a very tough 8-24 man raiding zone.

"A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"

Once it is unlocked, it is unlocked per server and you must make parties to do the zone. It could even be an "open" party zone rather then a closed instanced one that you must fly to per zone.


You give them free will, when they were slaves before and they help you defeat the bosses of the zones! Thus they become a playable race!

Xande, Phlegmeton, and co were probably Aethorochemically altered ... with a hint of chimerical gene splicing

Though I really wont be too surprised if there are some survivors they'll have wires sticking in them ... for reasons

How do I do the spoiler tag?

Not really though, they have to look more doll-like, and their skin and such and accessories can be much more interesting. They could even have machine parts, cybernetics ect ect.

Xande and company were they way they were because of imperfect cloning technology. The original Xande was probably just a hyur with red eyes.

Though will say, I wouldn't argue with a race that looks like the suggested pictures, might actually tempt me to switch from Lala if we did.

I wouldn't mind some kind of Allagan themed race, but I doubt we'll get a new race any time soon. Wouldn't be surprised if the next expansion doesn't have a new race too.

If they just threw it in tying us to the Allagans, they'd have to do it in a really subtle way. Something like they wouldn't be Allagans, but maybe a forgotten experiment at creating life through their technology. Then as the Allagans disappeared or died off or whatever, that life adapted over the years and managed to grow the same way any other race would grow.

So just like other races, they'd have an origin and wouldn't be any different than anyone else. Only the Allagans are deep in their lore.

Also, that ship is likely Ark, the 24 man UFO raid we're getting in 3.1.

Yeah, but races are much easier to make then classes. Especially if they are humanoid with a deep twist.

The Allagans are beyond our comprehensions and human reckoning. We can't even comprehend Allagan NPCs, let alone play as one.

It doesn't have to be allagan's themselves but a race they created to take care of the ship.
