Favor system

Has anyone tried the favor system out? I do not get it. Do the nodes show up on a timer? Do they just show up on the map and you have to go look for them without being able to see them with arbor call or something?

Also I bought the botanist favors for the Dravanian forelands, but it gave me a buff for the hinterlands.

I just tried it out and what it seems is that node will appear after a set time or maybe a set number of gathers.


How it worked for me is that i just gathered from the 6 nodes around( i did mining in coerthas) and after i had finished off the 2nd of the two that are grouped together is that the node showed up right there between the 2 i had just gotten. It was a red oid, hidden, so could only get 1, and that was the only node that popped for me during the 15 minutes.

I hope thats not the case..

Lets face it, favor mats are Thavanairan Silks and the finished mat (after turn in) are Kingly Whiskers.

Okay so, since it is in my best interest to get more mats out there, here is how it works.

Each favour gives you a 15 minute buff that will only work in the area it was for. You get 5 uses for this buff for your 50 gatherer scrips.

Stand next to a pair of lvl 60 nodes. Use your favour for the buff. Deplete a node, you will not spawn anything unless it is completely used up. When it vanishes, there is a chance to spawn a concealed node. If it spawns gather from it just like a normal node. You must use it up, so grab clusters once you obtain your scrip material. Once it is gone gather from the next node and it may spawn another concealed node. Keep gathering from nodes for 15 minutes.

Edit: Previously I assumed it was only a single pair that could spawn a node, this has been proven false and confirmed. It is pure RNG again.... On average I still get 3 items for each favour.

How do the nodes themselves work? Do we get a pass on the usual start at 25% have to discover the item mechanic? Are the items initially hidden like with timed spawn nodes? And do yield boosting skills work on these?

The nodes do not have a 25% start as each item is marked already. The mats are also considered hidden, so you get 1 from a node. 2 if you get lucky and get the rare mat as well. HQing the normal mats is possible, but they must have their quality lowered to turn them in.

Hey Rath, Thx for sharing but i cant underline what u wrote. I did 5 favors (50red scripts)

I got a total of 2 Dragons Wart and 14 Wyvern Wart.

On my first Favor i got 5 Wyvern. Second Favor gave me 2 and so on. They are NOT related to a pair of nodes cause i got 1 concealed Node from 1 pair and then on next pair (for reset old one) i got another concealed on different place.

Id say ist completly rng if u get or dont get a concealed node

Edit//: I gathered 21,31 (near lower skylords) [Churning Mists]

Only Thing whats for sure: You HAVE to harvest the nodes for unlock concealed + Need of 60 Nodes

This is strange as I did my first favour buff depleting each node and I only triggered the concealed from the single pair. The next favour buff I still was depleting from the other node until I spawned 2 concealed in the same location again. I then decided to justreset that pair and see. Maybe it is location specific? But, as the previous poster stated he was mining all 6 and only triggered one spawn. I will be heading to your location next and see if it possibly works differently, but in CWH I was unable to spawn a node anywhere but that single pair. Perhaps it depends on the actual distance between the nodes, in CWH they are very close together.

Edit: You are correct. I was duped by the RNG!
