How do I get on Balmung

Hello there,

I won't lie, this is quite frustrating. I've installed the trial 2 days ago and as I've heard - the Bambung server is quite a nice place to live. Especially when you like roleplay just like I do and when you have few friends playing in there.

Yet all I do for the past few days is refreshing the servers list in hope I will be able to join it at some point. What's even worse - I especially woke up earlier today because I've wanted to log in just after maintance. People told me it will be easy to get in like that.

But the Bambung server is still gray and I'm spending another hour refreshing the list, like an idiot.

It really does feel like a waste of time.

try at EU times (though ppl's saying only server transfer helps only for now)

Start on another server and wait for transfers to open up. High pop servers are going to be locked for awhile.

The only easy way to get on Balmung is to pay for a transfer over. Basically make a character on an open server then pay to transfer that character over to the Balmung server.
Balmung is almost always closed to character creation. If you want to keep trying to make a character instead of paying for the transfer. Keep an eye on the server around 1am-3am EST/EDT thou its not always open at these times, but these times are your best bet if getting in.

It is annoying...

If you're in the US... Try around 4am, Monday~Thursday.

FWIW -- although I do love Balmung's community -- smaller servers have nice ones too from what I hear.

During down time the server will often open up. It is a very nice server, just have to squeak through lol.

But as others have said just check around when the main population is on down time/asleep.

The lodestone list is not very accurate to use.As it only updates every 5hrs. So only exptly the list to be somewhat correct with in 30mins of that list updateing. As it may say a server is open when its actually not or vis versa.

Of course, but it does say right on the list that they only update it so often :P. I figured if the OP found refreshing the client, and not playing, was disheartening then this could be a better option (could refresh on phone for example).

(Make sure you save your character data so you don't spend time in the character creation screen when Balmung is open, also check balmung when there is server maintenance and other things that cause the server to be less busy).

Or you can get a program up that allows updates to your email whenever its available. Tis how I made my characters.
