Getting refused to EX groups as a DRK

Getting refused to get into group with bismarck EX is getting annoying due to me being a DRK.

4 parties I've tried and each one was like

"Sorry we want a warrior OT" or "Sorry, DRK's can't push the dps needed" AND ONE told me that due to my gear, I wasn't gonna get it unless I was a warrior cause it seems, warriors in MY gear can pull higher dps and give more to the group due to slashing debuff.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR *bangs head on desk* so bull, IF SE didn't fix the Dark arts bug, we could have kept up with warriors but nuuu, they fixed so now we are behind them and from little birdies I'm hearing, paladins are getting ahead of us too.

Doesn't help the bug to our mana too.

I about to give up and level up my warrior. :-/

Sorry for the rant, I'm so just upset right now, I knew I shouldn't have jumped on the DRK bandwagon and stayed warrior. I told myself it wasn't gonna be a Death Knight from WoW and be OP when released but somehow I still made one and made it 60 first over my warrior. :-/

These guys are just idiots. Even if the don't want a DRK OT (their dps must be really bad), they could just let DRK MT.

...and so it begins... 2.0... version 2.0

Eh... kind of sketchy. DRK is the worst MT of the three, in addition to being the worst OT. It's usable, but the same people who would kick a DRK for their dubious OT abilities would be just as well to avoid them for MT too. Especially for the Bismark Ex fight that OP mentioned. When I was doing it, I found that being a reliable DRK MT for that fight can be quite difficult, as in order to keep pumping out enough DPS to help the party clear the enrages, combined with that awful MP bug, you have to play it pretty fast and loose with your MP, which makes it hard to reliably gather up the right birds with AoEs when they spawn.

I assume the group did not know any better considering DRK dps is not THAT bad even with the dark arts fix, considering the overall potency of our skills and we are not as bad as 2.0 warriors.

DRK has zero issues tanking this fight. And the fight is not really tight on dps either. The main thing holding DRK back as OT is his TP problem, but that doesn't even matter in this fight.

If a group is missing a tank and refuses a DRK they are just idiots (and yes I know they are out there).

Edit: Sorry the OT was about Bismarck Ex, my missread. That is even worse though, since there is not really a MT and a OT and in the most dps intensive phase both tanks are tanking.

Agreed don't know where people are getting the idea that DRK is absolutely terrible (2.0 warrior comments) and cannot tank fights and paladin does more dps than them. People are now making poor decisions because they keep reading that DRK is absolutely terrible and its now spilling into PF.

The people were just being ass holes. While its true that DRK is the least useful of the three, for EX content they're just fine. The problem is that its new and people think that not being as good as WAR or PLD = they are bad. When it just means they aren't quiet as good.

This is pretty much just the start of posts like this. I imagine with Alexander coming out it's going to get even worse until SE does a fix to DRK. While people can cry about those people being assholes all they want, the simple fact of the matter is either of the other tanks offer FAR more in any fight than a DRK. Taking a DRK to anything right now is just lowering your DPS and/or throwing away utility. Not to mention DRK takes more skill to play right only to be near what the other tanks can do with less effort. It becomes less of a risk to just take the easier to play tanks at this point.

I'm typically top 3 DPS on Bis Ex, with only one Slaying accessory and my stats in STR, as DRK. I always keep up with WAR in the fight, and WAR takes WAY more damage than we do. It's just that the forums are all crying about how "bad it is" when half the people complaining don't even play the class.

I've now done EVERYTHING every other tank does, and either kept up with or just plain crushed them on DPS.

And posts like this are the reason people start to avoiding DRK, even if they are perfectly fine for any fight currently in the game.

Are they currently subpar in some areas? Yes.
Are they completely broken? Lol no, not even close.
