SE online store: wrong email address

As the title says, the online store has the wrong email address for my account and I am unable to change it apparently. When I pre-ordered it in March, I used an email address that was linked to my current ISP. However, we recently changed ISP's and they shutoff the email with little to no grace period. Of course I forgot to change my email with the store until after it was shut off.

I opened a ticket with the online store and was told that the only way I can update my email address is if they received an email from what was currently registered (the one I can no longer access).

My concern is will I need access to that email to complete the order? How do digital copies work? Do I get a product key after that I have to enter to continue playing after early access? If so can I access that code on the store or is it only sent to you by email?

The support member told me the best thing to do was to cancel the order and replace it. My concern about this is that I already redeemed both the pre-order code and early access code on my account. How will this effect it?

I've opened another ticket with the online store yesterday and still no response.

Any suggestions?

If I'm not mistaken, the code should be visible via your account, not strictly through e-mail. At least, this is how the pre-order code seemed to work when I pre-ordered Heavensward CE.

I don't believe cancelling your order will be an issue, as I've already heard accounts of people who used paypal to pre-order over a month ago, paypal canceling their "hold", and being forced to order again, and ending up with extra pre-order codes they couldn't use (because their account still flags them with early access).

Worst case scenario, the flag gets removed and you'd simply use your new pre-order code.

Yea I'll probably just wait another day to see if the support team will respond. They seemed swamped right now. But I guess my only option is to cancel it. I just am really worried that my pre-order codes will get messed up and not work. Likely that won't happen but would suck to not be able to play during early access because of a stupid email address problem.

If you're on PC, you'll get another right away. Apparently when I had to cancel mine, they said the EA codes will still work until the 27th, so it wouldn't matter.

That would work but if you are NA it won't. But you can check your perches looking at your SE account. One thing thought..NA PS3/4 physical ce ordered are still waiting for 2nd EA code that will be sent via email. 1st code you will get through the email that is telling you that your payment has been made. The 2nd one you get after you use the 1st one on the HW sight and you get it via email that you use for ff14. IMO try to get to live customer support and see what can be done if that can even be done? Other then that do as they say and hope for the best?

I am on PC, and I've already redeemed both codes. So as long as I don't need the old email for anything I should be fine. But if I do I am kinda screwed because there is no way for me to access it anymore. Let's hope there support team responds soon before I get charged.

This is just my 2 cents, but there's little reason to suspect they'd go out of their way to cancel your pre-order status on your mogstation account for canceling the order. They're out basically nothing, and it would probably cost them more to have people handling complaints and what not with errors than to simply allow for the chance of someone getting the pre-order bonuses for "free".

If you cancel before you're charged and create a new SE Store account and order again, then there's no worries about the code that will allow you to actually access Heavensward past the early access date, or getting charged twice for it, with good reason to have little concern about your pre-order status (since again, your flag isn't likely to be removed upon cancelling, and you'll also get a replacement code when you re-order).

(Just my opinion though, this is obviously all up to you)

I'm in the NA region, my pre-order code was from ordering the physical Heavensward CE for PC. I'm fairly sure the first code appeared under my Store account (there was a 'Show Code' button on the page with my orders).

While canceling the order might be problematic for a physical CE in the event the product numbers are limited, the OP appears to have stated that he's pre-ordered digital PC, so the PlayStation code issue and supply/demand issue are both moot in this situation. But otherwise those are absolutely valid concerns for others in different situations from Mendalas.
