Okay so I currently have PC and PS4 version of the game. I realize I need to by Heavensward for both. however I will not be buying both at launch.
So what exactly would happen to my character if I am in Heavensward on PC and I try logging into my PS4 version of the game that doesn't have it?
Will I be locked out of playing on the PS4 until I move my character to 2.0 area?
Will my character be transported to a 2.0 area automatically so I can play?
I bounce between consoles a lot. Depending on what floats my boat or is available at the time. I like this freedom, and I realize it may be slightly restricted until I get both updated.
Just wondered what the game plan was for this scenario! Has it been discussed? I haven't seen it in the FAQ's.

But come expansion you will need to have both version upgraded to HW to do it still (if you intend to play in HWs areas anyway, you can still keep them both at basic but you'll be barred from HW content), which means you need to purchase both a PC and PS3/4 version to continue playing on both.Quote:

@OP, I believe they said you will NOT be able to log into that character. You're SOL unless you log onto the license/platform you have Heavensward for.
Also, I believe automatic teleportation will not work on the server because that'll cause a lot of strain. -

Yoshida commented on this issue. He did the same thing. Logged out on his account at the office in a HW zone, home comp lacked HW update, had to run back to office and relog in a ARR zone to play again.
To summarise, you'll be unable to access any character that's in a HW zone on a device that's lacks the HW update. -

Most likely, you will need to log out in a 2.0 area in order to log back in on a system where you haven't authorized the expansion or haven't got it installed.
Any service account can be authorized to play any client type (PC PS3 PS4 and soon MAC) you may choose to play on. You need only buy a copy of the game (and the expansion) for each client type, and apply the registration code to the same service account for each one. You can only log in to one of them at a time, but it can be any one of them that has registration code in place. -
