Eternal Bond Probelm

So I have a problem and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in regards to this problem I have. You see the person I was to Eternal Bond with has backed out of the ceremony coming this Saturday, now I understand the ceremony if not ready in time is postponed and all that.
I was wondering if it is possible to get someone else that is not the character I was to Eternally Bond with to take their place? Other then that, I am not sure what to do GMs are not being very helpful with this problem I am experiencing.

You don't seem very dedicated to this person if you're ready to hotswap them out for a fill-in. :confused:

Lots of people just do the quest for the outfit/mount and then drop the rings from what I've seen ^^;

Have you tried talking to Claribel? To see what options she offers? And if that doesn't work, you may want to ask support how to proceed.

If you cancel the quest, it'll void your bracelet (and if you paid for yours, that would suck).

You can't abandon once you already initiated and set up the wedding appointment. Perhaps filing a report to get a GM to cancel it for you might be your best course of action?

Getting cold feet before the wedding, someone needs to direct an Eorzea romcom movie about this.

To answer the OP's question, you can't change your bride or husband to be after you have initiated the quest. The GMs won't do anything about it either. Basically don't put down the real money and begin the quest to get married unless you're certain you're going to complete the quest and get married. This is probably a good lesson for real life too, the various expenses you incur while getting ready for a real life wedding are not refundable either.

Well even if you miss the date, you two can still chose another one later. If the person refuses, you have to abandon the quest and find a new love. Hope you haven not spend any money on that bond, if yes, the person is definitely a deuche. :D

I bought eternal bond for me and my friend and if he backed off I would most probably kill him. :)

I am all for the bonding, unfortunately as I stated the person I was to have eternal bond with my character is backing out and he is the one who paid for the plat version of this.

Thank you all for your replies and honestly the GM I contacted directed me to the forums and even the "active help" and was not very helpful at all. So I am stuck with a unfinished Eternal Bond quest at almost the final stage and cannot do anything about it. : /

The only option I can think of is rerolling my character all together and honestly I do not want to do that. :(

No, if you end the quest, you can eternal bond anyone else, but you would have to pay for it again.

If your friend paid for it then what is the problem of u not be able to marry. He is the one that put the money. Just finish the quest and next time you want to marry make sure that friend want to go thru the whole quest before the wedding.

If it is because you want to take the opportunity to take advantage of the platinum package. Can you just get the items? If your already pay for your package?
