Rumor or not? 3rd free retainer with 3.0.

Heard about it but can't find a source. Like the last few times I heard 3rd retainers brought up...
As much as I'd like for it to be true, I doubt it. Can anyone confirm?

I'd like to see them add actual inventory space as well as retainers. But no, never heard this rumor. There's probably no truth behind it.

If they suddenly offered a third free retainer it would piss off a lot of people unless that actually gave us a potential total of five per character.

Just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean there isn't any truth behind it.


To answer the OP, yes in some interviews it's been mentioned we'll be getting access to another/more retainers. Unfortunately it's not clear on if everyone is getting another free retainer, or if we'll just be able to pay for more in the mog station.

While it'd save me one euro, it'd not give me more space as I'm already using four of them.

T_T Please increase the amount of retainers we can hire.

Increase the reitaner and our inventory as well as adding more retainer.

Yeah. Not raising the total to 5 would definitely make a lot of people think twice about ever buying any additional service. It's hard to judge the actual impact but definitely some of us will put off buying.

And your signature is big. Is it really necessary to leave it at that size? :3

would hope for more retainer inventory space, would solve alot of issues! :)

(as for her signature, would much prefer a large ,lighthearted sig. to a size 1 font , untrue statement ...just saying)

In one of the last couple live letters, they said they were looking into a few possibilities to free up storage for players, be it retainer, expanded armoire, and others. They were entirely non-committal on all of the ideas they suggested.

TL DR: It is confirmed as... not yet confirmed.

Even offering 5 per character wouldn't make up for it; one of the best benefits to having a 3rd retainer is that you get to sell stuff in each city. Even if 3.0 adds ishgard as a seperate market that's doable as is.
