Speed Square Petition!

Amongst all the attractions of FFVII's Gold Saucer, none were perhaps as overlooks as Speed Square. Along with chocobo racing/breeding and Battle Square (also should be added!), speed square was one of my favourite mini games!

For those who havent played FF7, its basically like a rolercoaster ride, but as the ride progressed you need to shoot at things to gain points.

The targets you needed to shoot at ranged from balloons to UFOs, ghosts, stars, cacti etc.

You can observe from the information in XIV already that the Manderville GS has a rollercoaster-like feature as one of it's attractions! I am really hoping that SE takes this one step further to recreate Speed Square for pew pew fun!!

Even though it hasn't ever been specifically stated by the devs, I do think they plan on adding this eventually. Not only the mention of the rollercoasters in the GS information, if you look out the various windows around the main aetheryte you can see some of these exact same targets hovering around a rail-type system that is inaccessible to players for now.

A bit too convenient to be fan-service imo ;)

But yeah, this would be glorious. I spent so many hours of my childhood playing FFVII's mini games (I even farmed 35 of those 1/35 scale Soliders because I bought in to one of the millions of bring-Aerith-back "guides"). In a perfect world I would love to see all of them included in FFXIV.

Could you provide a screen shot? I can't find what you're talking about. The only windows I see look into Round Square and Wonder Square.

Yeah, I'll give it a shot. I play on PS4, so transferring screenies is a pain but I'm pretty sure I have a USB drive laying around somewhere. I'll see what I can do later today when I'm not at work :p

But... I want snowboarding <_< I think in an interview, Yoshida said that they were not currently planning on adding the snowboarding minigame at this time.... but if they WERE, here's how he'd implement it (and then he went on about how you'd craft your own board and would have different options for different stats and so on).

He did seem to have a suspiciously detailed idea in mind.

When/If they do add it i'll be dreading the delay when shooting if it's anything like choco racing.
