Just witnessed a newbie get kicked from Praetorium.
For taking a wrong turn and getting lost for less than a minute...
The person who initiated the kick also berated and insulted the tanks, one of which was new, the other in for the second time, for pulling a few unnecessary mobs.
Jerks who kick for pathetic reasons are one thing and aren't TOO common in my experience, but a majority of people being completely apathetic and either voting Yes to the kick or just not voting is another thing and do indeed seem to be common, as I rarely see a vote kick fail, even wrongful ones. This doesn't even exclusively apply to FFXIV in my personal experience, though for the purpose of this topic I am referring to it.
Very disappointed in people right now. This is not the way to welcome new people to the game.
It's pretty much a small sample of the community, but in the largest form of party (so you would think with the most fair voting going on) saying to the person who got kicked "We won't just kick you for bad reasons sometimes, most of us will sit idly by and do nothing to help you when someone else wants to kick you for bad reasons."
Also didn't mention this originally, but the vote passed while the person being kicked was standing with the group. He had found us during the voting process, and people still kicked him.
