White Mage Guide!

Here's a better work-in-progress WHM guide (the old one was really just a mix concepts I wanted to share). I'll be working to complete this over the next few days. Please share some of your own unique ideas about the WHM class!

Nice info we have here, good job.
This guide is not for very exp'd white mages, but it is perfect for people who want to be efficient on WHM as an alt class.

Just a little thing (it is VERY VERY small), but Cure II can proc too ! It is always nice in T13 when you save 200MP on Cure III, but noone (at least no serious healer) will rely on it.

I have some minor issues with your rotations.
You seem to very much understand the class, and the guide is pretty fantastic.

However!
Your use of weaving off-GCD skills with GCD skills is poor.
Especially Swiftcast. See page 4.

[SwiftCast] -> [Med II] - 2.5 second gap doing nothing > [Cure]
You're wasting 1 off-gcd.

I wouldn't advise using PoM & DS together unless you're a particularly undergeared character facing specific mechanics like; T4 Dreadnaught, T9 Favour.

And finally your DPS rotation isn't optimal nor decent. (Sorry)
Page 4 - you have a good concept for your rotation, but you're wasting a lot of resources if DPS is the goal.

Try this:

[DS] [Regen] off-gcd [Cleric Stance] + [Swiftcast] + [Holy] Off-gcd [PoM] [Holy]*9,000

Your guide is good, and I'm sorry if I'm being rude for criticising inappropriately.
If my comments didn't make sense I'd be more than happy to draw them up in Photoshop/simple infographic.

I wouldn't use swiftcast in this rotation anyways, as you just used PoM the MedII will be more in synch with the GCD meaning even without swiftcast you could fit in 8 GCDs in DS.
Or am I missing something here?

Btw, I would not use DS and POM together too.
If you still wanted to, you could take the rotation and rearrange like this:
[SwiftCast] > [DS] > [Med II] > [PoM] > [CureSpam]
or don't waste that swiftcast:
[PoM] > [DS] > [Med II] > [CureSpam]

It's okay I like criticism. Here's what I think:

For swiftcast, I only use it during DS if I need Medica II up and want to clip regen before DS falls off. Although using medica II will leave a large gap, the 3 seconds cast prevents you from fitting in a extra Regen so you actually lose 1 GCD using medica II. If swiftcast is worth more than 1 GCD during Divine Seal than definitely save it. I actually never use Cure after Medica II, the diagram is just to show GCD fillers. Normally Cleric Stance after Medica II, but even if I don't I still think 1 swiftcast is worth the extra GCD you get during DS. I don't really use SC for anything else. If you think about it SC really only increases your cast on 2.5 GCD spells by 1.5 seconds which really isn't that big of a difference. The fact that you can move-cast with swiftcast is nice but like BLMs our job likes to stay stationary as much as possible.

I like how you use swiftcast and then PoM I have to try that out. In really big pulls where would you fit your healing (I don't think 1 Regen + Holy spam works for that)? I try to do this by using 2 Regens/Medica II during Divine Seal so I don't have to heal as much since 2 Regens (1050x2) + Medica II (700) is at least 4 Cure IIs during Divine Seal. If clipping that 2nd regen isn't important then yes SC then PoM seems to be much better. I would really like to know how you would maximize Holy use if the tank was taking much more damage than 1 Regen could deal with. (and no Bene please, Bene makes speedruns too easy)

PoM and DS I don't really use together either except during speed runs. I only mention it to show that PoM lets you use 1 more GCD during DS (even 2 with some more spellspeed) and so it's good to know when healing gets really intense.

If you use PoM during Med II's downtime Med II's GCD won't be affected by PoM (swiftcast only affects cast time). If you have more spell speed you can still do it this way, but it won't let you do 9 GCDs if you push even more spellspeed. Normally I don't use cure II or Cure during DS and almost always use cleric stance to fill in off-GCDs.

I would suggest including the Bread and Butter WHM single target DPS "rotation" into your guide as well:
Cleric Stance > Aero II > Aero >> Fluid Aura > off Cleric Stance.

This is a decent 2 GCD rotation that can be executed every 30 seconds, the only minor caveat is you'll need to be near the boss to execute it.

sorry that is not right, Medica 2 has 3 sec. casttime but 2.5 recast like every other spell, so you can SC M2 and follow up PoM with no loss.
Sorry in advance if I'm confusing something.

Divine Seal should not be treated like a DPS class' cool down (must fit as many high damaging skills as we can in this duration!! Or in your case, fit as many GCDs as we can!!).

IMHO the main use of Divine Seal is :
Getting through a particular phase in the encounter with the least amount of mana used.

Additionally your big pack pull rotation, I would not recommend the usage of Swift Cast on Medica 2.
IMHO, Swift Cast is best used for your first Holy for the following reasons:
1) Able to PoM during the 2.5 sec waiting time after 1st Holy
2) The initial stun can go off 3 seconds earlier.
3) The 2nd Holy's stun will guarantee be applied (Explanation : If you're above a certain Spell Speed, if you chain cast Holy, when your second Holy's damage is registered, the mobs are still stunned from your 1st holy (4 second), thus your second holy will have a "Stun : No Effect", and you gotta wait til the 3rd Holy for the 2nd 2 second stun).

I get why you'd do what you've done in your rotations, especially since healing isn't as strict on "Rotations" or effort as other classes.
You appear to focus more heavily on survival and optimum HPS than anything else!
Which is fine.

As for the single DS Regen Holy spam, try it out in any 4-man dungeon!
Stoneskin up, wait for tank to tap the mobs, prepare DS, regen when they go red, then immediately swiftcast into the Holy spam.

The stunlock for the first 6-7 seconds keeps the tank fully healed, then when the stunlock falls off, 10k health takes a long time to chew through. :)

(As you pointed out, Benediction as required on 9+ mobs haha)

But seriously, the guide is very well constructed.
I haven't seen anyone do anything quite as nice in the past year.
