Type of Materia based on Gear Type

So, I was recently soul binding a bunch of T2 and T3 MND accessories for my Novus Relic and I came upon an odd trend - I was unable to get any accuracy Materia from the 200+ converts I had on these pieces of gear.

Is it not possible to get accuracy Materia from MND gear? I was under the impression it was possible to get any "red" Materia from any piece of gear.

Also, if this is the case, is there a list somewhere it's possible to see what types of Materia you can get based on the gear you're converting? I imagine the list to be quite extensive but would be a nice resource to have around.

You might want to consider testing with accessories that have accuracy as a base stat.

Odd. I always figured that you could get any combat materia from any combat gear.

I get Heaven's Eye materia from peridot/tourmaline all the time. o.O

I hate it cause I'm after Savage Might/Savage Aim. xD

I'm merely guessing here, but that may be because of the PIE since MP isn't a mage-exclusive stat. OP might be using blue-gem gear to SB instead of green.

I think this right here, I generally SB Turquoise / Aquamarine accessories, so that might account for the difference.

What I can recall getting from those:

Spell Speed
MND
VIT
PIE
Crit
Det
And of course, random elementals.

I totally agree, Also would be nice if they took the elemental materias out of the game completely.

Unless they've changed it certain materia comes from certain gear slots. So head pieces drop int but legs don't. That is just an example and probably not accurate so don't go using it.

A/ Soul Binding any COMBAT gears for any of DOW/DOM gives you the following materia as the results: Crit,Det,Acc, Elemental, Vit,Dex,Mind,Str, and Pie, skill speed, spell speed.
B/ Soul Binding any CRAFTING gears for any DOH gives you: CP,Craftmanship,Control.
C/ Sould Binding any GATHERING gears for any DOL gives you: GP, Perception,Gathering.

I agree. The only purpose elemental materia serve right now is to further dilute the materia pool so you're less likely to get the materia you need. I feel like T3 and T4 materia are going to have to be made easier eventually because of the relic quests, increased level cap, etc. They've added materia to a few quests and that has helped slightly but removing elemental materia would help a LOT. I can understand if they don't want to disrupt the markets and that elemental stats have been part of FF games for a long time but if they're going to keep elemental materia they should at least make them useful.
