Suggestion about hunts

If it's so frustrating and stressing you out so much and you really HATE it for various reasons...

Don't do it! Why do people force themselves to do something that is obviously enraging them and making them feel awful? You are going to do just fine without those carbons, trust me. You can even be 100% T13 ready without doing hunts.

Is some gear upgrades really worth the obvious frustration and stress people are putting themselves through? If it isn't fun, you are doing it wrong. There's lots to do in FFXIV, none of which will need those carbon upgrades. Every 5 seconds someone is stressed out, irritated and bothered by the hunt system and for what? Something completely unnecessary for your game enjoyment.

I think the gear obsession is getting out of control if people will subject themselves to things that obviously stress them out just for a shot at some gear upgrades. I literally do not do something I hate no matter what the rewards are and I am enjoying this game to the fullest. $15 a month subscription and every day that goes by where you are not enjoying your time in Eorzia is a waste of money in my humble opinion.

I realize that the hunt system has problems and people have been very detailed in what those problems are but SE does what SE does and you know that eventually, maybe even in 2.51, they will add other ways to get this stuff. Hunts are just a way to 'tie people over'. It's not going to be the permanent end-all-be-all. So just kick back and enjoy the other things the game has to offer while you wait for a way to get gear upgrades that you can actually enjoy :)

It really comes down to a handful of things. People do it because they'd like to get these things that the devs "harmlessly" bring to the game for people to do. When you're denied something (or made to wait longer, ala A/S respawn times) because of someone elses behavior, you're gonna rage. Think about times you get mad at other people in your daily life. Someone cuts you off, traffic, someone calls in "sick" so all of their work is now yours, etc. You're being forced to endure the results of someone else's action(s).

Now, it is true that it's better for you to avoid things that can cause you anguish (to an extent), but it's not always going to be something a neutral or positive person may think of every second of the time they're on the game. In some cases, this crap is actually brought to you rather than you going to it. Ever since 2.5, I don't do Hunts because of this. Too many people and, just like IRL, you're almost certain to come across folk that deserve to be knocked out a few times (if not worse). Prior to this patch, the Hunts were great. You'd get the early pull type of d-bag here and there, especially with S rank kills since those were still plagued with half the server showing up, but it was a good time that began feeling like an actual hunt.

Then we have the renewed negative community behind it that is well-known. Because we know that SE designed these things for everyone to do, we instantly view this as a denial of content by other players. Many players from the revived Hunt LS "FE" on Leviathan view that all spottings should be kept in-house only to reduce the likelihood that they won't get full credit (and in rare cases provides emotional benefit that only you and yours know something, a variation of the feeling you have when you monopolize). Not everyone is like that, of course, but it only takes one.

The entire situation itself is pathetic and really doesn't serve much purpose for the community itself. Basically, until 2.51 comes (when Gold Saucer is released and they'll most likely begin adding things to WoD), it's chaos and your sanity is better off thinking your random server peer is likely a D-bag. At least until you talk to this person... which will then either confirm it or make you think there are good people out there. Although, I do have my own reservations about the Gold Saucer and our server peers finding ways to show off how serious their goal in life to troll can be. SE hasn't failed us yet on providing those means.

Hasn't stessed me out at all anymore. It use to, now its just the way it is, I have a fast computer with an SSD so I get there about right when its pulled everytime. Am always in a party so a few hits and I'm good and move on to the next one. Yes I have missed a few but big deal, Also been getting unstained logs left and right so am happy now...

To me it's really only really bad for the people who want to do the hunts for things other than the Ironworks upgrade items. We know that's why there's such a rush for hunts now, but it sucks for the people who are in it for the lower tier gear or Alexandrite, because while the rate of seals rewarded was increased, the the hunts themselves have changed too much since the patch. Hunting could have been the easiest way to get Alexandrite in 2.5 (thanks to seals and soldiery rewards), but not with the way the majority of players are treating the hunts right now.

Personally, i'm not doing it.
