PS4 to PC questions

I brought the PS4 version yesterday and I'm having enough fun with the game that I wouldn't mind grabbing a PC retail key too, but I've got a few questions.
I know PC and PS3/4 players play on the same servers, but do I have to do anything special to play my PS4 character on my PC? I'd want to switch back and forth a lot depending on what room I play in. I doubt macro and UI stuff will carry over, but aside from that is it just like logging in from a different PC or PlayStation?
If I buy the Collectors Edition on the PC will existing characters get the CE content? Or only new characters created from that point on?
Last of all does the 30 days playtime that comes with the PC retail key stack with the 30 days I'm currently using from the PS4 retail key?

I play on both ps4 and pc.

1. the only difference between the two is UI changes and Macros made on the ps4 do not transfer to the pc and vice versa other than that all is the same.
2. If you buy the CE all your current characters and any new characters wil get the content.
3. Once you register the PC version another 30 days will be added to your subscription.

Unless it's changed recently and I didn't hear about it, the gear sets and hotbars are also stored on your local machine and don't carry over when switching. In the case of hotbars, if you use a controller on PS4 and keyboard/mouse on PC, then you'd be alternating between cross-hotbars and straight hotbars anyway, so carrying over wouldn't be relevant anyway. But you'll also need to re-do your gear sets on each machine every time they change. (I've never understood the logic behind why gear sets would be stored locally rather than server-side.)

Yes, you are right. I forgot I keep having to redo any gears sets and hotbars when I switch between pc and ps4, I play with controller on both.
