Question regarding yeti

Why does no tank in df ever position this properly?

Quick tutorial for all the people who just love putting this thing in the middle of the room and turning it in random directions to make 1 stack snowballs everywhere while freezing my eos or garuda constantly.

Step 1 - FoF
Step 2 - Shield lob as you run up to it
Step 3 - SW and Fast Blade as you run through
Step 4 - Run directly through him all the way to wall
Step 5 - Run back through him
Step 6 - Watch as the red zone fills up 75% of the room and becomes incredibly predictable to dodge for healers/dps, as well as allowing for more 3 stack snowballs during the fight

Kind of reminds me of final boss of AK, tanks positioning it to convenience themselves the most out of laziness instead of allowing the dps/heals to not have to move, but since it became common place people thought my positioning was weird.

Edit 2 - Healers/dps please stop hitting snowballs that are less than 3 stacks unless he is casting northerlies

Well, I also consider the method of keeping Yeti in the middle and then not moving him from a direction where a 3 stack is possible until that 3 stack is made valid. Randomly snowballing everything, however, is quite inefficient.

IMO it's the healers role to places the spriggan since the dps the spriggan deal is so low and you really dont need to heal during this fight.. just pop med 2 + regen on the tank, get all the spriggan hate, place them in front of the Yeti, get all the snowballs in one AOE, repeat (easy and fast win because all the balls with get to 3 stacks) and Even If the healer get frozen from the aoe its no big deal since ppl get so low dmg from this fighr)

This is what I do, and I love it. It makes it a whole lot easier. I remember my first time doing it the hard way and it was really horrible and made the fight take like fifteen minutes.

The problem is the spriggans move really slow so you waste it a lot of times trying to get them into place, with the method I use, you have healer on one side, range dps on other, depending on where the spriggans pop either healer or ranged dps agro them to pull them towards middle and anytime one spawns in middle no one touches.

You can get around that by surrounding it with CODE tags. Example:

Having tried all three roles in this, I say it works best when the healer uses healing over time to funnel the spriggans to one cone-able area. They may move fairly slow, but healers are almost sure to get the hate quickly and be able to freely move around for placing them as needed.

Yep, a watchful healer can make it much smoother to run. I am yet to see dps that doesn't focus the blue ogre so that's good.

All in all I think the dungeon is quite well designed.

Lucky you, when I started running this I used to chase the ogre as a tank before realizing how bad that can be for people to not know where the giant orange triangle is going to be. I can't count the number of times a dps would go from 20% to 75% of my threat before the ogre died.

Now I stick on the yeti so it doesn't move but it still seems like unless the ogre spawns directly under the yeti melee dps completely ignore it.

I'm lucky, I guess. I usually run in a premade with a white mage who is great at positioning the spriggans.

I pull the yeti all the way to one side of the room, she leads the little buggers to their inevitable demise.
