He's suggesting utility, which they didn't add.
This utility seems a bit... useless though. Mechanics would have to revolve around it rather than it revolving around the mechanics. I guess it would help in the T8 sprint trash run lol
No.
1. With the upcoming DRG buff, DRG is as good as it is if the buff is as good as they stated
2. The ability doesn't seem useful. I can predict more occasion that loldrg pushing party members to the wall, DoT aoe, boss cleave, etc.
Also currently DRG will still get hit for dmg during jumps
Not sure how useful this would be, and I see at least a few griefing issues to be had with a move that moves everybody, even if it is a 5 minute recast. Imagine Titan (normal/HM/EX) or Leviathan EX:
Dragoon uses Dragon's Flight! Takes the other 3 DPS and 1 Tank off the edge.
Or in another case:
Used Dragon's Flight while WHM/SCH was casting a heal! Tank eats a big attack and dies.
Dragon's Flight while BLM was casting anything not Scathe or via proc! BLM is now at least 35y+ away from the enemy (because already ranged) and loses that Astral Fire stack as (s)he runs back to range!
Or on Monk: loses Greased Lightning Stacks.
Ninja: in the middle of casting a mudra combo, gets moved which cancels his input and gives the wrong one or the screw up one.
Sure the DRG would be kicked for harassment or whatever in those scenarios, but still. A move that allows one person to move a group of people presents many issues, especially if someone is being moved without their consent.
From what they said in live letter it seems like the changes they might make as followed:
Heavy Thrust will no longer have it's flank bonus and the dmg dealt +15% will go off even if not at flank
If I"m correct when it comes to "Impulse Drive" the combo only starts if you attack from behind so if you use Impulse Drive in any other direction it won't work meaning it should be easier to use Disembowel.
In a way I can see how they may be aiming to make DRG combos more like MNK and quite honestly I don't see what's wrong with that, in all honesty having to be in a specific spot for the combo to work doesn't make any sense cause what does being in front, to the side or behind a target have to do with the ability to follow through with a combination.
It does appear they are aiming to make the use of positionals as a way to improve damage rather than hinder damage potential by causing DRG to miss out on combos when the mob moves.
